Weekly Progress Report 27/03

Yo Bunnies!

Hope you are all enjoying oval chocolate egg day...

So let's jump in and have a look at what the Bunnies are bringing to you this Easter...lol

Castiel is on holiday and is therefore indisposed currently. He will be back soon with his beautiful Dark Angels.

Drake is moving this week and very busy next. Here are infantry in their delivery device . . . a drawer to be driven at ultra slow speed!

King Fluff has been tinkering in the mech shop and has finished another chunk of his Graian mechanicum force. He's also been slogging away on his warlord and Night Lords. Stay tuned for updates in the coming weeks.

Darien completed his Reavers this week, see Friday's post for more detail. He has now started working on 11 Justaerin while waiting for his order to arrive from Forgeworld!

Atia was busy building some more Orks this week - including five Killa Kans. She also got her new airbrush needle and started to work on Kurtha Sedd, in order to make her Word Bearers a playable Zone Mortalis force!

Tylar is looking forward to a weeks worth of hobby time. As a result he's taken his Typhon off the shelf and has been cleaning and prepping the final parts ready for build and magnets. More progress to follow this week with an update on a FW tile to follow too.

Aveinus has been making more progress on his plasma gun support squad. Check back on the blog tomorrow for pictures of the (hopefully) completed squad.

I been assembling and trimming more Raven Guard. It really wasn't worthy of showing you trimmed and unassembled models so I don't have a picture. However, this week you should see a bit more of the elite options I am working on so stay tuned for my post on 30/03

Until next week...don't stuff yourselves rotten...or do! Either way is fine ^^

  1. Nice to see the Typhon back in the queue Tylar. Really need to get mine going again.

Atia's Canz are gonna look propa hard in Bloo. Also, she's probably looted your eggs already!

Drake, good luck on the move mate.

I've been working on my Reaver again this week. Trims get boring so quick.

  2. I actually intend to finish building the B@C box set for my Salamanders and getting at least the undercoat on them! I've said no more purchases till what I've got is painted!!

  3. It's all looking really good guys. Might we be able to get a post by King Fluff with his completed Mechanicum units? I myself am nearly finished basecoating my own Domitar and would like to see how his turned out.

Also, a question to anyone who might be able to answer, I'm looking to decorate the base of my Domitar with a dead Marine, but I want to make him the victim of the Graviton Hammer, does anyone have an idea on how to achieve a look of 'crumpled' armour?

    1. A ball of crumpled tin foil absolutely slathered in chunky blood effects? Lol :-)

    2. I'll be sure to include a post soon about the finished mechanicum. For your casualty you could drop a resin marine in boiling water then press on the centre of the chest with a blunt object but to be honest I'd expect a marine to explode from such a powerful force so perhaps using clippers chunk up the marine bits then use lots of blood for the blood God effects paints on the parts and base.

  4. I really like the Reaver attack squad! Good job, they look fantastic. A 10 man Reaver attack squad with MK IV jump packs are on my buying wishlist.

    1. Thanks Josha! I was tempted to give them packs but decided I would go with dreadclaws instead!

    2. I'm assuming you've checked out what the guys at Aleator have been doing. His Reavers look really good with the jump packs. Between you guys and them, you've both been huge inspirations with how I'm building my Sons of Horus.

    3. I have checked them out and they do look good! Glad we can provide inspiration! I have plans for jump packs in other legions so didn't want to use them in my SoH as well! Some day I would like to add jump pack reavers to the army!

  5. I'm in the same boat with my salamanders but couldn't resist a leviathan. Then decided to do a pride of the legion force with lots of dreads for the fluff. Thinking of an allied force but not sure what would fit with the sallies

    1. Well a red force would contrast nicely against the green.
If it is a post Isstvan V force I would consider making them shattered and add some Raven Guard and Iron Hands in there.
Or red Mechanicum would be great too.

    2. Why not making a force based on the Defenders of Baal? BA's and Shattered Legions ^_^

  6. All options I am considering. Raven guard would work nicely as my sallies are gonna be slow moving as I'm footslogging them. I'm not a huge fan of iron hands as my first love was emperors children which I lost motivation to do anything with. Mechanicum however would be really fun to paint. Its gonna be a while so probably wait to see what is released before then.
