Hi all.
I have taken another step in my hobby experience now. Adding heat damage to weaponary.
So this was something I was really worried about doing. I researched it lots, found some great guides online, but just wasn't confident.
Luckily the new HH Masterclass book showcases how to do this.
So I followed their guide and used FW's clear airbrush paints.
Step 1: Clear blue - Calth Blue
Step 2: Clear Purple - Eidolon Purple
Step 3: Clear Red - Angron Red
Step 4: Clear Orange - Pyroclast Orange
Step 4: Clear yellow - Sigismund yellow
It is a really effective and easy to achieve technique. I'm pleased with the results too.
Well Bone Garland is carrying on at a better rate now. Next stage will be finishing all surfaces prior to oil weathering the panels.
Drake Seta
Really good guide there Drake. Many thanks for putting it together
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
ReplyDeleteFunny that we both started to try the heat effects ^_^
Used the brush for mine so far (since I used them for my graviton gun and lascutter, both are too small for the airbrush afaik) - but will try the airbrush guide with my Ork tanks :)
How did it look with a paintbrush? Did it come out well?
DeleteLooks good! Will try using that on some of my tanks bigger guns when I get there!
ReplyDeleteAmazing looking Titan now Drake! I have a long path to paint...
ReplyDeleteKeep going Siph! It is such a large project that it feels like each section is an individual unit! Getting to the end of that tunnel now!
DeleteLooks great! He's nearly done now by the looks of him too
ReplyDeleteYep. All flat at the moment. Mainly base colours. But the weathering will see to that!!!
DeleteNice effect it came out well!
ReplyDeleteCheers. Really pleased. The technique I am copying for the Titan weathering on the panels is really interesting too. It's how they did it on the FW Mortis Warlord and some of the Knights. Come back for that soon :)
DeleteAbsolutely magnificent mate.
ReplyDeleteWell thanks Red Scorps :) welcome to Battle Bunnies too!
DeleteAbsolutely magnificent mate.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning, and terrifying at the same time. A very inspiring piece of work.
ReplyDeleteI use exactly the same pattern of colours using washes. Your technique looks incredible and far better than my own over such a large weapon. As I've been struggling with heat over larger surfaces recently your tips could be very useful.
ReplyDeletePraise the Omnissiah!
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome!
Thanks. Much appreciated.
