Who are the Space Wolves?

Ok ... we already know who these guys are, but it's still a pretty cool artwork (I also added a few more from the last Open Day - enjoy).

Stay tuned for more Vlka Fenryka soon - and in the meantime, you may check out what Drake has done for them so far, using BaC and FW upgrades :)

  3. In retrospect, it seems obvious why Forge World did art of the Rout in Tartaros terminator suits...

    1. Well, all legions had access to all types of armour pattern (besides legion specific ones of course) =)

    2. Oh, naturally. Just if you want to inspire people to paint figures with your livery examples, go with the latest kit ;)

    3. Haha yeah.

Although I need to admit, that's what I love with some of FW artworks. They sometimes take an armour or unit that you normally wouldn't take for that Legion, and do an awesome artwork with some extra fluff for it. Good example would be the SoH tartarus termi - love the "defender of the VS" fluff they did with him :)

  4. I hope that it's not just Russ being released tomorrow... I hope space wolf players/collectors get their transfers as well. Let's let Space Wolves players start detailing their models!!!

  6. Anyone else think that FW are making the VI Legion seem more like disciplined tribesmen?

    1. I think they are making them sci-fi vikings

    2. It is what they have always been. The interwebs seem to focus solely on making them loyalist "world eaters". Ignoring half of what is written about them. Anyway minor gripe over , can't wait for this and inferno.

    3. Couldn't agree more. Ah well, it was just me pondering; I'm not a fan of 40k SW because of their overuse of fetishes and the like, so I was hoping that the Vlka Fenryka are more... serious, I guess. :3

    4. Currently their 30k vibe apparently is that of faceless killers. A group of warriors that will do anything to win. It is hinted that the VI Legion Legionaires from Terra were actually mindwiped to believe they were feral space vikings by the Emperor. Also they may have been mindwiped more than once or coded to believe certain things (think Winter Soldier or Mancurean Candidate). Soooo excited for Inferno!

  7. I get you there. But I always felt they had that warrior kings feel to them. Noble but with a side of controlled fury. It's like when I read about Grimnar in the Black Library books. He's looks the part of a barbarian , but is so much more. Scholar, King , warrior , honorable beyond measure. But that's always been my opinion.

  8. Would you be as kind as to provide me with a basic outline of the pre-heresy Space Wolves? I'm planning to start a VI Legion army now that Burning of Prospero is out, and fluff has always been a big thing for me when making armies. Thanks!

    1. Specifically their organisation. Thanks, again.

    2. Hi Dan. Their organisation at this stage is really up in the air. Inferno should clear up any lingering queries. I will be posting more info on it as soon as I get my hands on the book.
