Hi all
This is another update to my two Legio Mortis engines for my Bloodmire Maniple.
I have Tamiya masking taped' up the left shin plates. I was tempted to just do them in one diagonal angle but I decided that those were for the War Maniple Warhound pack featured in Betrayal. I also note that the Warhounds all had the same shin marking in that pack sooooo I believe they are pack markings for the Warhounds within a battle maniple.
I have decided to go for one white and one black head for the two ladies.
Vallejo Brass is what I used. If I was to start from the beginning again I would be tempted by Retributor Gold as it is not too far off colour wise (and would go on better).
All in all they are coming on well. I want one to have a red Carapace and the other to have a black one with possibly two white stripes.
Anyway. Keep your eyes peeled.

DeleteIt is shown on here. It is then just painted over as normal and it just looks like rust growing under the paint forcing it to crack. I do want to add some rust powder into the cracked gaps eventually to fully simulate it.

DeleteNot at all jealous lol. Got a question though, should they have the Aquila on their carapace? Both before Heresy or during.
ReplyDeleteYeah. That is a bit of a problem in my mind too. I might sand them off and put a Mortis logo on instead. Dreading what to do with my Reaver chassis.
DeleteIn early heresy they still have the aqualia. It's shown in the FW artwork so it is fluffy, even if it feels wrong...
DeleteThat white head carapace is going to look amazing. The interplay between the white and gold is quite lovely on that armor bit. And the colors are really smooth on both.

DeleteGreat work, more progress than the TOC post! Indeed confirmation that you are a machine! Lovely colour and metallics on the trim, is that the Tamiya Brass? Looks a lot smoother and yellow than My old pot of GW Brazen Brass, I'm losing my patience with that colour, coverage is rubbish and gloopy.
