Fury Interceptor; next Space Marine flier from Forge World?

Hello.

Forge World announced a while ago that there will be 2 new fliers and a New Dreadnought in production soon for the Legionnes Astartes. Could it be the Fabled Fury Interceptor finally?

Size-wise it looks feasible.

Officially it has mainly a Starfighter roll, but could it make the 30k Tabletop?

It is also in service with many an Imperial organisation including Navy and army. With Macragge approaching; could it be a perfect time for it to appear?

  1. The Fury Interceptor and any pattern of Stormbird are all that's left fluff wise correct? I don't know much myself. But, however, with a new pattern of dreadnought coming soon, can we expect maybe one of the fliers to be correlated with the dreadnought as like... a fast and efficient way to deliver it to the battlefield without the use of a drop pod? Like a Storm Eagle built for Dreadnought delivery?

It was just one of those things rolling in my mind when I saw that. Hahah.

    1. Could be. I am kid of dressing this next dreadnought. Don't want it to take away from the great designs currently out there.

They have said that they want to do a Stormbird in the future (not a massive one though as there are many variants which all add up to "Stormbird". I would like to see the Fury. As we are really getting through our Mortalis Space ship / bunker board, I would really like some generic aircraft to sit in the hanger lol.

    2. Hahah. Don't blame you guys. I want like two Arvus lighter orbital shuttles just for that.

    3. There are untold amounts of imperial hardware especially in this era but there is a particular reference to a flier called a Lighting Crow in Betrayal, I imagine it to be a small fighter but I can't find any more info on it.

    4. Hmmm. Could be.
In my opinion all other air roles are filled apart from interceptor and maybe some small assault skiff (cutter I think they have been referred to as in the HH books).

  2. I would of imagined they'd go for the most prominent ones in the literature, the Fury and the Stormhawk (I think that's one ) get mentioned a bit, from what you guys reported it doesn't sound like they're looking at the Stormbird...yet at least.

    1. Storm bird is far too big in my opinion. Would be cumbersome and unable to use. I dont think marines really need another flier though so what do i know eh? Lol

    2. In Conquest, there are smaller patterns of Stormbird mentioned. I think one of the Flyers will be a smaller pattern Stormbird ('Warhawk').

    3. Yup. Stormbird is a loose term according to Forge World. They have said they do want to do a Stormbird (and Warhawk might have been mentioned).
