Hi all.
We are trying to get the Mortalis board ready for our Campaigns. Here is what I have been up to.
I have 11 doors to get through and it is getting tedious.
Various neutral colours were used on the doors. Lots of sponging and drybrushing was used to make the doors not too plain.
Only 5 to go then onto beds, Specimen tanks and Scribe station.

You ought to look into spartan scenics' range of various tidbits. They have beds, gun lockers, computer terminals and all sorts of stuff! Give it a look and you wont be disappointed :)
ReplyDeletePs, been following you guys a while and you've been a great inspiration :)
Awh. Cheers mate. Appreciate it :)
DeleteI purchased a few terminals / billets etc a little while ago from a generic Wargame convention, but the stuff from Sparten is damn good.
Cheers.
They are looking great Drake. I can see where they would be sucking up a ton of time, you are putting an enormous amount of detail work into them. This isn't so much a gaming board as it's own display worthy piece.
ReplyDeleteCheers Greg. I do think we will be taking a lot of battle / display photos on it.
DeleteIs the set, tiles and doors, worth it? Debating getting enough for a 4'x6' table.
ReplyDeleteHi Brandon. Definitely worth it, especially in Heresy. It is always good to get boards to represent the 3 main battle types (City, desert and Ship). I'd suggest 4x4 for now though getting a nice assortment of all tiles, then when other feature tiles come out you upgrade to a 4x6.
DeleteI have a 4x6 but dread (and wish for) the day they release more tiles.
I was going to get the bundle of 16 tiles, set A. And get a bundle of the 4 set B. At that point, might as well get another bundle of set B and make it a full 4'x6'.... how many door and other accessories would you recommend getting along with it?
ReplyDeleteAim for around 8 large doors and about 12 small doors. I love the specimen tanks too. Will be getting to them soon. Any furniture to make it look occupied is good.
DeleteThanks! Definitely thinking in going to keep it simple to begin with and stick with the 4x4 and 4 large 8 small doors.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great posts, guys!
