Mastodon Unboxing video

Hello all!

The Bunnies had a great time at the Open Day, we hope you enjoyed our coverage! Hopefully we were able to answer a lot of the questions you asked in the comments and let us know if there is anything else that we maybe able to answer for you!

I was lucky enough to get my hands on the new Mastodon, only 27 were available today! It will be joining my Sons of Horus First Company. As it is an awesome model I thought I would do an unboxing video for you all to see what the kit looks like! It is a great looking kit and should be fun to assemble and paint.

You can watch the video on the Battle Bunnies YouTube page here. Hope you enjoy!

It comes in one of the red boxes that the Warlord Titan comes in! Here are a couple of pictures of some of the parts from the video:

It also comes with the new style instructions which look really good!

Overall looks like a great kit! I'm hopeful that I will be able to get it washed and started assembly by the end of the week! Keep your eyes on the blog for further updates!

Happy Hobbying!

  4. Oh good, they're casting it Spartan/Sicaran style. That would've been a nightmare otherwise.

    1. Yeah very pleased will the design of the kit! The tracks being mostly cast on the tank is great! It has 84 parts but most of the tank will be done with 10 bits! The weapons and hinges on the front door take up the bulk of that, which is good!

  5. Have to say that Blake look sooooo happy to be rid of this model. Will have to pick one up some day. They are absolutely stunning.

    1. Lol! He did, he gave me some good tips for assembling it as well! Basically you need to get the bottom of the tank right and the sides to fit as near to perfect with that and the rest will slot together!

    1. Lol! A horror I know to well! The sides on this look really good and the kit looks to have next to no warping! Hopefully it will go together a lot easier the the storm eagle! *crosses all fingers and toes and anything else I can cross!!*

    1. Interesting! What is it you don't like? I got it for it's rules!! Transporting 20 Justaerin across the board in big games will be really good for my First Company SoH!

    2. The lack of firepower. Range 12" on the main melta weapon isn't enough. Maybe 18". But it's only really useful against buildings. Transport capacity is nice, along with the void shields. But without fire points, you have a unit tapes inside to hold it and deny the extra vps.
Just seemed like it had so much potential for such an awesome model. But 700 points for pretty much just a transport, no matter how much firepower it can withstand, not all that great.

    3. This is very true, it does lack some fire power! Which is a shame but I think it fits in well with my SoH First Company and its transport ability makes it very scary!

    4. So true. And the model is amazingly awesome! I will eventually get one, just because it's so stinking cool, but sinking that many points, I'd rather get my warhound in play. Better firepower and it will help keep my Spartans alive carrying the same units.
