First - the guide for the Space Wolves transfer sheet:
Pretty cool - can't wait to get more informations about the Cult of Morkai and the Varyag!
We also got some more close-ups from the House Malinax Knight for you:
I hope we will get some transfer sheets soon :)
Speaking about Xana - Magos Scoria will get a model (yay! Scorpion-legs rock)
Last but not least - some alternate Cerastus heads. All Knight patterns may get some more Mechanicum heads as upgrades in the future.
regards,
Drake Seta and Lady Atia
Can we hope for some House Orhlacc transfers ? I would dearly love to add some Manticore symbols to my Knights!
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know.
DeleteSpeaking about Knights transfers - the Vyronii transfer sheet has been send to printers in the past fortnight, could be 1-3 months before they get enough stock for a release though.
I can't wait for Inferno to come out now; the Vlka Fenryka are going to be beast! To help with Varyag, it seems to be derived from Varg/Warg, which (in Norse mythology) was the name given to the mythological wolves Fenrir (Fenris) and his sons Sköll and Hati. As well as this, wolves turn up in Norse sagas on many occasions serving as mounts for mythical beings; maybe the Varyag are particularly ferocious or veteran cavalry units somehow associated with Fenrisian gods?
ReplyDeleteRegardless, thank you for keeping us updated on the open day! :)
Thanks Dan! That is appreciated. Would be good to learn more about them. Hopefully it is just a Jetbike unit with special rules. Interested in the Void Wolf icons too. Shame we ran out of time!
DeleteActually, Varyags is a slavic pronunciation of Varangians, Norse people who serve as mercenaries in Byzantine Empire and formed a ruling elite of Ancient Rus.

It's very interesting that they used this term.
On the topics of the Vlka and Knights, does anyone know of any Knightly houses that are allied with the Wolves in either 30k or 40k (or both)? Thanks in advance!
ReplyDeleteHi Nick. Well in this next book Mortis are on the Rout's side. Mortis march with Morbidia. I would be keen to see this Knight house too but as of yet there is no scheme confirmation.
DeleteOtherwise there is one house which is very close to the planet Fenris, they sound very much like a civilisation the Vlka Fenryka would get on with too.
They are in the recent Red Waagh Campaign book for 40k (with a bit of background knowledge about them).
House Degallio sound like they would surely have marched with the Wolves at some point.
Thanks Drake, that's great. I shall dig into those options in more detail, thank you.
DeleteSo, looking into it ...
DeleteLegio Mortis and House Morbidia. As you say, no scheme yet confirmed - plus both Legio and House end up falling to Chaos (if they hadn't already fallen, and were merely 'playing' at being loyal at the time of Prospero...)
As for Degallio, certainly an option (and definitely conceivable that they would have been present for HH). I'm not loving their colour palette though, if I'm honest. I shall keep investigating.
Out of interest, do you run any Knights?
Any mention of House Malinax transfers? Those photos look like transfers could have been used. If not, it's very impressive and consistent freehanding.
ReplyDeleteI love the other mechanicum cerastus heads!
ReplyDeleteHi there, just had a quick question, did the good fellows at open day happen to discuss or drop any hints as to the release date or updated rules since the Porphyrion is bigger than his initial concept release?
