Vlka Fenryka: Primarch Leman Russ

Hi all

Here is my finished Primarch of the Vlka Fenryka. Leman Russ.

I have reposed him slightly just by hearing his legs and gluing his head so that he is looking in the direction he is sprinting. This also required a small bit of modification to his hair, but not lots.

I decided not to put him on his feature base, and instead have him on a regular stone. I may look into magnetising him soon so the option is there, but chances are because of all of the modifications I did to Freki and Geri's pose, I might just get a second set eventually.
I also deigned to not go the pulsating with power sword or axe route. This is mainly as most of the art for him does not show Weapons "blazing with raw power" so I decided to show it as per Neil Roberts' art work.

The wolf belt was painted from white with various shades of blacks, browns and Seraphim Sepia.

I had to add a small amount of green stuff to his hair to allow for the repose.

And here he is with the Wolfkin.

There will be more Rout coming soon, but I will be concentrating on finishing my Zone Mortalis board over the next few weeks.

Thanks for reading

Drake Seta

  1. Sweet looking model. Nice subtle conversion with a paint scheme to match; however I didn't realise quite how massive the wolves are in till you see them next to a primarch!!

    1. Same here! Seeing them together like that was a real "Whoa, dude!" moment.

    2. Likewise they're far bigger than I'd envisaged them to be in comparison to a Primarch. Really well executed Leman Russ

    3. Yeah I know. If they were real life sized I think they could put their paws above a two Storey house and drink from the guttering.

  2. Sweet job, could I ask what colours you used for the armour? I'm just about to start mine and as my first primarch I would love to it to stand out visually

  3. Well done. Looks way better than what I did. Putting him on the simpler base is not a bad thing at all. Sometimes less is more.

    1. Cheers. I like to keep my bases simple and generic, that way they don't stand out and clash with gaming boards.

  4. This model looks brilliant like this, I prefer it on this simple base rather than his scenic one. Eventually I will get round to getting me a primarch but I can't decide which.

  5. Now that is absolutely amazing and great with Freki and Geri. Love the use of the metallics for the blades, stunning Drake.

  6. Oh wow! I'm hoping to have Corax and Russ finished before Dorn comes out and that is massively inspiring. I just hope I can pick a helmet that won't seem out of place.

    1. For Russ? If so aim for the one that Ulrik the Slayer has.

    2. I thought that, but think it's probably like the spear, Russ never actually liked it and wore it one time them threw it in a cupboard hence why he left it behind.

    3. Lol. He liked it in his "Primarch: Leman Russ" book (helmet, not the spear). I would love to see it on him.
