I get the idea of why they posed him like that, but I do prefer the Primarchs to be in more dynamic poses. Would have preferred him either in a defensive combat stance, or leading the rallying charge. Great detail on the armour though, and he does look amazing
Unfortunately, at this rate, that feels like Sanguinius is several years away. That said, it should be Alpharius because the Alph Legion have had rules since book 3. I hope they get more units too, especially their Lernaean Terminators and Exodus. I feel bad for AL players who’ve had almost nothing in the way of releases.
Sweet model definitely will get as IF are my sec fav after UM. My only comment is Storm’s teeth looks to small. I was thinking of the coverart for PoD where the Dorn’s sword looked massive! Would have loved to have a oversized chainsword for this model.
Great display piece and I love him but as a gaming model I'm in two minds. He'll look great as part of a defensive army but will just look wrong leading a charge.
I just put together my first squad of custodes, I definitely see some similar points on the armour. Most notably the though guards and the eagle behind the head
Since the Fists have been my first 30k army and I have been waiting for this guy for years now, it's a definite instabuy for me. Or pre-order anyway, since we don't have any weekenders in Germany. The design is spot on, I was just hoping for a more dynamic pose. Since the design is basically copied from the cover of "Praetorian of Dorn", a duel with Alpharius would have been nice.
He's probably going to be my first Primarch purchase. Definitely my fave of the line so far. I'll need to do something a bit different with his hair, tho. Not hugely different, just a slightly different white, shading it with yellow or light brown instead of grey.
Did anyone else find it odd that they showed him off on Wednesday before the Weekender? A Primarch model, I'd thought they would wait and spring it as a surprise day of unless there were picture leaks. Either that, or use their usual preview day of Monday for it. To just show up randomly on a Wednesday, that just seems... odd.
Like him. Instabuy for me. Unfortunately I'm not at the weekender, so will have to wait.
ReplyDeleteWonder if Angelus might be done, as there's a seminar on the next book, called Malevolence.
I love him, I need him!

ReplyDeleteHere’s hoping that Alpharius or Sanguinius is next
ReplyDeleteMy bet would be alpharius, not because I’m a dirty heretic but because sanguinius has gotta be in the terra book when it comes

DeleteWho needs models, when you've got so awesome rules :)

ReplyDeleteThough that's clearly Astartes armor and not Custodes armor. None of the Custodes suits require external power packs.
DeleteAll told, it's a dead ringer for the Blanche art though.

ReplyDeleteI'll definitely be getting this! Kind of hoped his left shoulder pad was more like the picture on the black library books with the eagle pointing out.

ReplyDeleteWell Valdor should be at the weekender, and I reckon there could be a sighting of Alpharius too.
Delete75 Quid is getting a little out of hand..
