Unfortunately it has been penned in for a ‘Late 2018’ release!

I will be waiting with much anticipation for this one!

What do you all think? Will you be doing a Rogue Trader and if so, what would you call them and what is their story?? Please comment below!

Stay fluffy

  1. This is a really awesome set. I hope they use this and similar games as an opportunity to flesh out the Inquisition line.

  3. Wow! These look cool. Looks like a Rogue Trader retinue with Arch Militant, house troops, some sort of either shipmaster or techpriest... some sort of assassin and maybe a navigator?

I worked on both the old Dark Heresy RPG and the Rogue Trader RPG, and managed to write my PC into the 40k canon: page 95 of Battlefleet Koronus. He was the nephew of the governor of the Calixian paradise world, Reth, was exiled at 18 due to a scandal where he killed a Calixian nobleman in a duel, then spent some time as a junior Inquisitorial acolyte.

After 15 years of service, his master vanished under suspicious circumstances, and he was sponsored by a shadowy faction within the Tyrantine Cabal to pitch a legal claim on a defunct ancient Warrant of Trade to which he had a theoretical entitlement as a lineal descendant of the missing warrant holder, several generations on. To the surprise of all concerned he suceeded in his claim and ended up a newly minted Rogue Trader, albeit one tied by force and blackmail to increasingly unstable Inquisitorial control.

He managed to acquire a mothballed Claymore class Corvette (I also invented that class, page 27 Battlefleet Koronus) and set off into the Koronus Expanse with a collection of exiles, oddbods and killers.

The only thing that now grates about him is his name: Jabez Caul. Sadly, the name "Caul" was then adopted by GW for Belisarius Caul, so I find the name a bit annoying now. Oh well. I have actually been working on a Rogue Trader retinue & army for years, so this will boxed set wil be a must for me!
