Forge World Primarch Horus and future Primarchs

Hi Bunnies

So what has the upcoming year have in store for us? Recently at Gamesday 2013 we laid our eyes on the third fourth and fifth Primarch to be released by Forge World. So let's make us a little Timeline shall we.

My Photo taken from the recent Seminar showing Horus Lupercal (Primarch no 5). He is Work in progress at the moment, but already looks formidable. He could possibly be out as a Xmas release.

Primarch no 4 Lorgar Aurelian. He is all but finished. Speaking to the sculptor he informed me there is just a few minor pieces he wants to address including adding a Holster to his pistol.

Primarch no 6 is apparently going to be Corax. This will tie in with the release of book 3 Extermination in April (so hopefully at the next Forge World Open Day).

Primarch no 7 is going to be Mortarion (about time too!). He will be released around July time at the Horus Heresy Weekender (which the Bunnies will be going to again). Count the 7!!!

Primarch no 8 should be Leman Russ. This will tie in with Inferno (yes the name for Book 4 - I would have preferred Razing) which will be released at Gamesday 2014. It would make a lot of sense to have one of the most popular Primarchs (and my favourite) appear at the biggest 40k spending holiday of the year.

Primarch no 9 will be Magnus and could come around at the same time for their Duel (he could be 2014's Lorgar - and get released November 2014.

It feels as though Perturabo needs to be done sooner rather than later to be the cherry on top of that Battle of Phall board, so he may be squeezed in somewhere.

Great times ahead

  1. Fantastic info, Drake! I wasn't aware the FW guys had presented a rough release timeline. 2014 will be amazing, on account of Inferno and a certain two primarchs!

    1. I just have to stop doing scenery and get the Death Guard done, cos then I will be on my Night Lords before being front of the line next Gamesday for Russ!

  2. I'm glad for the folk out there that are waiting for their primarch to come. But they I look to it is that I will go retired before having Konrad Curze released :(

    1. Lol. I hope he does not slip too long. Have waited long enough for Mortarion! At least we wil get Sevatar. Thank the Dark Gods that Night Haunter is Jump infantry like he should be in my opinion! Never saw one reference of him being able to do it in the novels though.

  3. Hi guys. Horus obviously isn't out yet and this shocks me a bit. He should be released at a major event (owing to his significance) but can't imagine it being 30th of March (Forge World open day) as it is 3 months away. The photo up top shows his standard at September, so 2 months later he must be all but complete. Maybe he will be released like Lorgar, just on a random Friday afternoon.
Corax is still on cards for March 30th too.

  4. Update: He still is not finished. He is still being worked on.

  5. Oops. Accidentally deleted your comment Mike (I think it was). Horus still isn't finished. I think he will be released March 30th now. Unless another talented Sculptor gets involved I think Mortarion will be moved above Corax (and also think we will see Book 3 in May at HH Weekender) where we will see the Exetermination board for the first time. Edgar S sounds like he is Sculpting Mortarion now.

  6. Ok sounds cool, make sense with Edgar since he Sculpted Typhus that he would do Mortarion but sucks for me as a Raven Guard to here that Corvus is being pushed back:( But still, as long as we see more of the Primarch's I'm happy!

    1. Yeah he hinted about it in the Typhon video. In my opinion S. Egan should do Mortarion as was previously planned, he was very keen on sculpting him too. This way Corax would be done semi quick (little embellishment in his armour) if done by Edgar. That would mean Book 3 April / May release would have a second Loyalist Primarch and one to release alongside book. Also Mortarion should be Primarch 7 even though I can't wait for him.

  7. Surely at some point we should be seeing Vulkan as well?
It would be nice for the loyalist players amongst us to have Primarchs as well. At the moment the character series has been way too weighted in favour of the traitor side of the Heresy (Only Loken and Ferrus Manus for us loyalists!) thus far.

    1. Yeah. That's why I am stuck with it being either Corax or Mortarion that is imminent (leading towards Mortarion), and Egan working on Vulkan or the Lion (I am dead set that Conquest has Dark Angels in it now) we should see this WIP at the HH weekender.

  8. So with the recent release of Mortarion and pictures of Vulkan, who do you think the next two will be? Sounds like Corax and the Lion from what you are saying? Kurze would have to come after that right? Then that still leaves Perturabo, Dorn and Alpharius with rules but without models. And by then the next two books will probably have been released! Which means probably Guilliman, Russ and Magnus? Leaving Sanguinius and the Khan for Terra? Aaaaaagh the suspence is killing me!

What are your thoughts for the next ones?

    1. I think Russ + Magnus and Perturabo + Dorn should be released with/near eachother. My money is on the next two released being Corax and then Kurze (in a duel with either Vulkan or Corax).

    2. Rumours abound suggest that it was let slip Curze is next to finish all Primarchs from Massacre. I think he will be in a dynamic duel with Corax (as both are dynamic flying Primarchs).
But at this point after weekender 2014 I'd say, Curze Gamesday, Corax Xmas, Perturabo FW Openday and Dorn Weekender.
Gamesday 2015 would see Robute Guilliman in my opinion as Calth is next after Conquest.
