Brass coming along slowly on Warlord.

Hi all.

Sorry the content is a bit low recently. Barely get two hours in a row for hobby time at the moment.

Here is my current labour of love.

The Vallejo Brass is going on slowly (lots of nice thin coats).

I have also been painting the Hydraulics with Tamiya Chrome. A great colour, I drybrushed it up after to add a sheen.

Still hours and hours to go.

Addendum: Didn't go to sleep early. Carried on and did the base on all copper pipes.
Ignore the partly blackened exhaust vent housing. I dabbled with the idea and have since decided against it. It will be turned metal again.

    1. Cheers. I really love working with the new Forge World paints. The leg black armour paint was airbrushed on, whilst the hood seen in pics was painted straight on! Unbelievable quality.

    2. I'm looking forward to getting it tonight. The pictures I've seen already have me drooling for work and class to finish so that I can get my big resin baby back.

    4. Heavily considering a second Warhound to run the Warhound Hunting Pack and to keep with the fluff of them hunting in pairs. Finances make it to where 2016 is the earliest I can look at it. As for a Reaver, maybe. A Warlord is almost certainly out of the question, though.

    5. A pair feels almost a must when it comes to Warhounds for me now. I'm saving now for a second Warhound.
I'm sure you will save for the other two engines eventually. I sold all of my old 40k stuff on eBay and got £600 in PayPal towards my Warlord purchase. Thank the Omnissiah that FW added a PayPal option!!!

    6. That PayPal option has been a godsend. Anything exceeding $100 US overseas actually automatically locks down my credit card as a theft prevention measure. It required me to get on the phone with the bank so they could intercept the block and cancel it before it locked my card down. Used to take an hour on average for things to go through properly as a result. PayPal allows me to circumvent that issue.

The Reaver is a possibility, but that Warlord would have my wife beat certain parts of my anatomy in. Near $2,400 US for a model that might be used once a year? Nope. I'd get neutered for that. But I have to admit the Warlord looks absolutely stunning and that I do want one. In my Kurogane colors, that would be interesting.

Your metallics look amazing. Could you give a run down on how you painted up the metal and hydraulics? The warlord looks amazing.

    2. Then a 1 pot nuln oil, 1 pot Agrax Earthshade, 1 pot water and 1+ cap of Klear floor polish was used for the wash. Awesome stuff do one area at a time. See my previous update for more info.

And thanks chief. Went for a quite standard look as Mortis in my opinion has little in the way of finery.
