Assembling a Leviathan Siege Dreadnought

Well. I saw. I tried. I couldn't resist. Probably all down to Paul Rudges' excitement lol :)

So assembly goes like this:

At this stage it recommends gluing your choice of weapon in. Totally magnetisable and glue-able later.

Here are their slots.

One foot is slightly stepping. Can be on either side.

Head in

Hood on

Phosphex!!!

Shoulder pads. These are an issue. The rear has a slot where the cables go into a weapon specific panel. The shoulder pads would either need to be cast so the whole arm is magnetisable and swappable.
Or.
You magnetise the rear shoulder panel and bicep joint so you can choose between weapons. Definitely not as easy as the Contemptor to change Weapons.

As seen here.

Enjoy :)

  1. Oh, nice. So it ends up a little taller than a Contemptor, but it's as wide or wider than a Castra Ferrum.

  3. So thats where all the pies went...

Really beautiful kit. I want one but it doesnt fit with the themes for any of my legions!

How long before they start releasing legion specific ones and a relic version? Lol

    1. Well, the XIIIth Legion's doctrine is all about versatility and large spectrum of warfare, so having a "theme" is rather exceptionnal for an Ultramarine strikeforce (Aurorans, Nemesis). It wouldn't be heretical to pick one this guy for your UM army. ;^)

I'll by one when I finish my Suzerains. Thanks Drake for showing us more about it !

  4. What a beautifully cast model, can't see a single blemish!

I try to avoid impulse purchases but it seems with forgeworld that you have to buy within the first couple of batches to get this sort of crispness guaranteed.

    1. Used to be more of a problem than it is now. They've gotten better at keeping the molds fresh and minty, and have even revised a few to make them easier to assemble.

  5. I managed to get someone to pick one up for me.v glad. Is the phosphex in the main body box then? Part of me expected to have to buy separately so that's great news.

    Thanks for the guide :)

    1. It's in the box. It is the launcher on top. If used in 40k it counts as 3 Hunter killer missiles.

    2. Was rules included with the model?

    3. Were given on A4 on purchase. Bit of a unit!

  10. I wish it would fit in the character of the Raven Guard, because it is an awesome model. Sadly, it really doesn't.

    1. Hi Roger :) yeah but you get the Contemptor Cortus soon too. Like a RG stripped down Contemptor by the sound of it.

    2. Has any information been leaked about the Cortus pattern? I'd like to see a dreadnought with a jet pack. :)

    3. I'm a RG player as well and I'm buying three of these for a talon..I also play them as a Terran assault company

    4. I don't think these can be taken as a talon from the rules I have for them.

  11. Hey! Beautiful model. How poseable are the legs? Is there room to have a walking or stepping look, or are they fixed to the position you've used?
