Sons of Nostramo #2 - Infantry heavy

Good morning everyone.

I'm back with another installment of Night Lord goodness. I've been busy with infantry over the last few days, batch painting mostly with a little conversion work on squad leaders. I've left the bolters and power packs loose to allow for easier painting, I'll be batch painting these separately once the main models are done.

I've also put together my first character - Captain Ophion. I used the Forge World Praetor in power armour as a starting point, I added a standard MK3 helm in order to add some wings clipped from the Night Lords conversion set sold by Games Workshop. Next up I added a power axe from the MK3 weapon set from Forge World and to add to his status I gave him a cape from the Chaplain Ivanus Enkomi model from Forge World. To add to the menace I thought a pointing finger would be fitting (I think this came from one of the plastic space marine kits).

In the next few days I plan on painting Ophion up and getting a bit further with the block of infantry. I also need to start thinking about a basing scheme, I'm thinking a muddy battlefield would contrast nicely with the blues on the model.

Happy Hobbying

  1. Good work on the PA Praetor conversion; it shows well that with little touches you can make a great unique character.
    Where from are Ophion's vambraces?

    1. I had to press mould them to get the MK3 style to fit in with the other bits of the model.

  3. The scheme is very effective too. Can imagine you getting a horde Legion force done nice and easily.

    1. I actually managed to raid a bits site for the grey knight in PA nemesis glaive with the one hand on the shaft, perfect as a basis for the chain glaives
