Forge World release 15/01

Hey guys here we are with another look into the latest releases from Forge World. Today is a bundle day it seems as a few new bundles have been released, along with a new set of transfer sheets being released. Lets dive in:

Isstvan trilogy for limited time and price

A Conquest bundle containing book IV and a Questoris Knight

A Conquest bundle containing book IV and a range of Solar Auxilia models including a storm section, tactical command and lasrifle section

And then a range of transfer sheets:

Death Guard

Iron Hands

Salamanders

Night Lords etched brass

Solar Auxilia

Knight House Macabius (note that the 4 grouped together near top central look to not fit anything in the current range. Preceding the new Knight mentioned at the birthday event?!)

A good release this week full of goodies. The transfer sheets are a great addition, especially the etched brass for Night Lords. When we saw these they were really good especially for the lightning stencil. We did see one for Iron Warriors but they have not been released this week. Possibly to tie in to a future release, maybe a new Iron Warrior unit or character incoming?

What do you guys think of this weeks releases? What do you want to see next? Let us know in the comments below?

    1. I think the current sheet is in the new style isn't it? I don't think there will be :s

    2. Aracersss, I'm pretty sure the coverage of the Bday party said the mastadon will be pre-released at the weekender. General release one would assume is after this.

  2. Those Larger Transfers on the Makabius sheet must be for a somewhat larger Knight . . . . Cometh the Castellan?

    1. Please be a big sturdy powerhouse knight!
More firepower, better armor, slower.... you know it's going to be freaking cool!

Are we expecting the mastadon before the weekender,or released during/ shortly after? Having trouble not splurging until it's released!

    2. Hey Brandon. Apparently it will be at the Weekender for sale. Expect a £300+ Price tag

    3. Not to burst the bubble, but they look like a fit for the lancer weapon banner.

But this doesn't mean they aren't for the new knight also!

I got mine pre-ordered. Makabius and DG here I come!

  3. I'm looking at these bundles in the hope it means they are trying to clear them out. After the FAQ and the updates to ask the rules, I'm hoping it's a sign of updated red books coming soon!

    1. New red books have been confirmed for Isstvan Legions and other armies (Mech, SA etc). Expecting to see these at Weekender

    2. I'd be disappointed if the Mechanicum had a revamp in the near future. I ordered the red book last week and I'm rather sure that it contains all the units they have released so far.

    3. The Red Book for Mechanicum is about the Taghmata - Questoris Knights and Skitarii are or will be in case of the later unique seperate army lists afaik :)

That said i wouldn't be surprised to get access to most of the GW plastic stuff with the Mars black book ^^

  4. I am finding it hard waiting for things to come out but I am keep saying to myself "at least I am not a Space Wolf player" - I hope the wait is well worth it when its finally over!

  5. The books trilogy is certainly tempting, as I still have to get any of them, but this bundle together with Brandon comment has got me thinking if FW may be releasing a 2nd edition of some of them. We know the red books are getting re-released, but what about the big ones, has anything been heard?

    1. I don't think the big books will get second edition yet, maybe some day when they are all out. The only information that really needs updating in them is the army list but this will be done in the red books! Or perhaps via small legion books like Kaelo suggests below!

    2. Afaik the black books already got their second edition (they had the last FAQ changes already in it) - atleast that's what I heard from people :)

    3. Does it include the changes from 7th ed? Personally I would prefer to stick to 6th edition

  6. Going forward I think that FW should release Legion specific books (Like codexes) and campaign books (like campaign books)....easier and cheaper for the customer to update. Easier to transport. I for one would love an Ultramarine book with there background, artwork and rules. I would pay £15 for a book like that, purely because it would be easier to use. The campaign books could then be smaller and a bit cheaper. Could be a really nice collectors line.

    1. This would be really cool! It would gather everything into one place as well which would be awesome! Though more likely to be £30 each!!

    2. Yeah or simple the same way GW does it now - two books, one for rules, one for fluff?^^

  8. So much expected around the weekender. seriously contemplating holding off on the mastadon as the new red books are going to be a must. Along with any other cool units coming. Mastadon is extremely awesome, but the price tag.....
If only I had won the $1.6B lotto!
