Weekly Progress Report 10/04/2016

Hey all

A quick look at our update for the week. Both myself and Drake have no progress for this week as real life rears its ugly head. There is a light at the end of the tunnel though and you can expect to see some progress from us both this week.

Lady Atia did some work on her Word Bearers this week. She started to build her next 20 infantry models, and primed her Contemptor Dreadnought. Here you can see two of her Sergeants, one of them wearing a modified Nuncio Vox, aswell as an Occulus Familiar. She also saw the first pics for the new AoS Orruks, and is all hyped for her 30k Orks army now. Cyboars incoming!

As you've seen from King Fluff earlier in the week he's been slogging away at 7 new Night Lords units. Stay tuned for the post in the completed units and more from his Graian Mechanicum force over the next few weeks.

Aveinus has completed his plasma gun support squad this week and has started to apply transfers to his other characters and predator tanks

Darien's latest order from Forgeworld arrived and it went straight into the bowl to be washed! Work has now started on getting the new stuff built.

This week Tylar has used his little bit of Hobby time to clean, prep and build his Leviathan and magnetise all the weapons.
Post of this giant brother will follow soon 😉

Castiel is getting over a virus he got whilst on holiday and we shall hopefully see some progress from him as he settles back into UK life.

Hope you have enjoyed our update. Please comment below.

  1. That Night Lord Jetbike character looks awesome. So impressive.

Loving Aveinus' Tank commander too. You doing two different models (one on foot and one in tank)?

  2. Using the new Orruks for 30k Orks is very tempting.

Might have a dabble. Though I really should finish some existing stuff before starting a new project.

So much to paint and so little time ;)

    1. Oh yeah I know that problem :)

Yeah, the new Orruks are pretty awesome, and funny enough, their new lore is exactly the same as 30k Orks lore (the harder the enemy, the harder they fight, the bigger they get). So they scream to be used - can't wait to get my hands on these kits!

  3. Great work team! Looking far ward to what you bring use next week.

I've finally made a real start on my Warlord. Was supposed to get other stuff done first but the voices made me do it.

Drake, did you magnetise Bone Garlands weapons?

King Fluff, what are you planning to do?

    1. I *think* he is going to magnetise his titan :)

Tbh, the warlord is so expensive, you should use magnets. First for easier transport, and second, there are so many cool heads and weapons out there ^^

    2. Yes I'm magnetising mine, probably in a similar fashion to my reavers. Arms, waist and head. But as the range of motion is less than the reaver for the warlords shoulders I may magnetise at where the elbow joint is instead of where the arm joins the torso.

    3. I'm current thinking of a large magnet vertically and a locking pin horizontally. The pin will be a 2mm brass rod in a 3mm (internal diamension mm) brass tube. Either that or have horizontal magnets too. The guns are so big I'm not sure I trust just the vertical magnets.

    4. I use Neodynium magnets which at 10mm diameter and 3mm thickness can attract each other through table tops - they're very good for weighty resin. The heads on my reavers are attached with two 3mm by 3mm magnets and are secure (but do wobble a little when nudged if you don't quite get the position right)

    5. Cheers mate. The feedback is much appreciated.

I'm probably using a 20mm x 2mm and 12 mm x 2 mm for the heads. I have an interesting plan for making the head moveable so it depends on this working out.

Not sure about the waist at the moment. Possibly a 20mm x 3mm in the body and a couple of these in the waist. The pegs pretty huge so it's just to give a bit extra security.

      How's your build going?

    6. She's a beast so it's slow going ATM, but once I've got this weeks hobby project done I can get back to her, the torso is nearly done now though.

    7. Excellent, look forward to seeing progress!

  4. Nice work all around. No progress means that you must have been prepping something big right?
I think even I who has a tight wallet may have to hop on the waging and convert some AoS orks to 40/30k.

    1. They were cut and shut Mk5 legs that I modified.
