Lady Atia summons - A Keeper of Secrets!

Howdy Guys and Girls :)

Little WIP post today. I started to prepare another side project - my Keeper of Secrets - for Bolter and Chainswords' annual ETL painting challenge. In case you wonder - no worries, I will still continue to work on my Word Bearers. But you can't have enough daemons to summon forth from the warp can't you?

At this point I need to say - this is a gorgeous model (not easy to build, though!). I really like the daemon sculpts of the late 3rd Edition, and Forgeworld's Keeper of Secrets is based on exact that style.

Some of the details were a bit damaged, so I had to re-do the chain and her nipple-piercing. I also added a tongue piercing ('cause they rock! :P).

The fingers are already pinned, I'll do the same for the spikes.

Of course there is still some greenstuff work to do on her!

Besides this model I also got a bunch of Juan Diaz Daemonettes aswell as plastic chickens who will be done at a later time. Regarding the colour scheme for my Slaanesh Daemons I would like to follow this artwork:

Light greyish/purplish skin, black details, gold trims, dark tattoos and purple claws. Pretty much GW's current 40k studio-scheme.

I'll be on vacations this weekend, but I aim to start to paint her next week. Hope you enjoyed my post today - regards,

Lady Atia

  1. I think the purple tinted grey skin tone will look great on this scale - also if you're going fetish, black and shiny is always a winner. Looking forward to seeing her with more layers on (so to speak)

    1. Thanks!

Yeah, i will do the leather black of course - not sure about gloss varnish though. There are things where it works pretty well, but I realised it can also destroy the overall details/highlightes.

And yeah, can't wait to come back and start with her :)

    2. Secret Weapon Miniatures came out with a line of acrylics early this year. There's a set of three especially for black rubber that have a satin finish, rather than matte or gloss. I've used them to decent effect on tires and hoses. Might be nice?

I need to start work on my word bearers deamonettes and I think I will follow your scheme for them.

    1. Me neither! Need to figure out how to do my command models (banner bearers, music girls and champions) for my 3 units.

Yeah, guess I have thermal water and 4 days to figure out the recipe haha :D

  3. Love this model. I think it is fantastic. I am totally with you regarding the Juan Diaz sculpts. They were awesome, and much better than the current ones.

    1. Yep! Although I need to admit, the chicken girls look better, as they have more movement. The current foot-slodger daemonettes are far too static!

  4. love the model and the planned paint scheme! I think some Hasselfree Miniatures slave girls would look amazing on the base of this model...

Look forward to seeing your progress during ETL! Are any other Bunnies participating?
