We were really fortunate to have been given early access to see some new animation before it hits the net. The Space Marine Armouring Ritual!
Warhammer fans get to see exactly how the Emperor of Mankind's greatest weapons are prepared for battle. They are blessed by the Tech-Priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus, calibrated by servo skulls and injected with neuro-stimulants to prepare them for the darkness of the 41st Millenium.
This is a ritual that has never been officially documented, answering questions that you never knew you had, until now.
This has been created by the Warhammer Animation studio and showcases the level of quality that we can expect from them. As you can see from the photo above, the quality is exceptional. The graphics are so sharp you can actually see the Astartes’ pupils dilate when the combat drugs take effect. Every part of the arming process has been planned and rendered meticulously, from the melding of the greaves to the ankle supports being socketed into place. His armour whilst still looking solid and clean, maintains a small amount of spalling and a patina of surface indentations to help showcase the animation studio’s skill whilst still portraying the suit’s legacy (and therefore also the marine’s) to help with the grim dark feel. It shows it’s not fresh off the hanger too.
You can see this video in all of its glory now (it left me walking around the room after making foot clunks and servo noises with my mouth 🤣).
