The Fists are coming!!!

Hi all

So today I woke up to find that Forge World have released something I have been looking forward to since I saw them previewed at Warhammer Fest. Yes that's right, the Imperial Fists special units, the Phalanx Warder squad and the Templar Brethren.

My initial thoughts on these is that Forge World have really outdone themselves, and for one can not wait to get my hands on some. In fact it is taking quite a lot of will power and self control not to just stop doing my Word Bearers and just move onto the Imperial Fists lol

As you can see, instead of having all the parts in the pack, you will get an upgrade kit. I'm not sure if I prefer this as surly it would mean that we would end up with loads of spare parts? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Take care :-)

  1. It does suck that these are not complete sets, seems pretty unfair to make you buy an additional 40-50% of unusable parts.
But ho-hum - they are gorgeous and would be purchased regardless.
I do love the Phalanx, can just imagine these veterans at the front of a Breacher line facing off against some Iron Warriors.

  2. Strange I thought the armour marks would be around the other way. They are really nice looking models, as to the incomplete set, I don't know how I feel about it, I imagine at some point there'll be a bindle of sorts that alleviates the price/spares. regardless eventually I'll end up with 2 sets of each at some point! :D

  3. I didn't like the idea of upgrade packs at first. However, now that I see it I think that they will turn out fairly nicely. They already look better then those night lords.

    2. Lol. Never want to be on the wrong side of the VIIIth. To the skinning pits.

    3. No offense to the VIIIth intended (Well maybe I play Fists and Salamanders). I think the Raptors are great but the Terror squad got ruined by the upgrade pack.

  4. I think the kits are amazing but being released as an upgrade pack isn't great IMO. A 20 man squad will cost £220 and leave you with so many unused parts. If Forge World did bitz then I think this would be perfect. The money I can deal with, it's the left over parts that annoy me.

  5. I agree that a bundle option would be good to reduce cost for customer. Any spares can go on eBay and generally recouped. The designs are brilliant and the Imperial Fists are really a head turning army! I love the yellow/black contrast.

    1. believe the upgrade pack is a way to allow players to use whichever mark of armour they wish for the legs/pack. I will be using these as an honour guard for a 40k fist army and will have more recent mark plastic armour thrown in so it doesn't bother me at all.
