Sons of Horus First Company Update 18: The Warmaster

Hello all!

A week ago a showed you my work in progress Horus. This week I bring to you Horus the Warmaster completed!!

I have really enjoyed painting him! He was painted in a very similar way to my Justaerin, the guide for which can be found here and part 2 here. The only slight changes to the scheme were for the leather on the arms and between the legs. This was done with Baneblade brown, washed with Agrax Earthshade and then highlighted with Baneblade. I also added some extreme silver highlights to the bronze. I have a face painting guide lined up for next week.

I leave you with Horus and a few of his First Company.

Happy hobbying!

    1. Thank you!! I'm really pleased with him! I love adding the really small details in, even if they aren't very noticeable from a distance on the tabletop.

    2. I'm almost tempted to see what could be made of sculpted Eyes of Horus like that if you did them silver, painted the slit, then hit them with the new gem paints.

    3. That could work nicel, I had not thought of using those paints for that! Though I can't change how I do mine now as too many models done! I would be interested to see how they come out!

  3. Lovely work, great mini, nice Eyes of Horus everywhere! Just wish FW would release a daemonic Horus with twin Lightning Claws like my favourite artwork of the duel with the Emperor.

  5. Throne! This is, in my opinion, the best looking Horus model I have seen to date! A model deserving the rank of Warmaster indeed! Amazing work! :)

  9. Outstanding work. The only thing I would say is that Horus's eyes are a bit like mine every time Jennifer Lawrence walks in the room...not that she ever does (unfortunately...) but you know what I mean...???
If you add a very fine line of black along just the bottom edge of the top eyelids (like eyeliner but just on one edge...) then they'll look a bit less "phwoar...there's Jennifer Lawrence...!!!".
