Legio Custodes Heavy Dreadnought

Here is another look at the actual model for the Legio Custodes Heavy Dreadnought:

Looks pretty cool!

Do you think we will see a legion version at some point?

Stay fluffy

    1. Heavy Support. It's like a beefed up leviathan.

  2. It's.... beautiful! I think it should stay Custodes only, to be honest. Astartes already have the Leviathan.

  3. Surely a legion heavy dread would just be a Leviathan

    1. That´s what I think, saddly seems there are no pics with both models

  4. I like it, it's reminiscent of a mki terminator with the beetle back pouldrens! I might have to pick one of these up when it's released, along with the new sisters transport that was shown yesterday.

    1. I hope they don't do the mk1 terminator suit only for the custodies.

  5. It's glorious and if it came to the Legions I would hope you could use it as a HQ of a Dread only army.

  6. It's certainly cool looking, though i also think it should remain exclusive to custodes.

  7. They said they used the old terminator as a design basis

    1. Called it. Also I think the Aquilon Pattern Terminator Armour is going to echo this :D

  8. Beautiful design. And yes, the design itself should stay with the custodes (so I will only need one for my custodes and don't have to buy more for my Fists and my planned second SM army). The weapon looks really cool though, kind of like a gattling laser maby? That would be a nice thing to have for the Leviathan

    1. The weapons will not make it to the legion armaments. They are relics from the dark age of technology and are heavily restricted and only available to the emperor's chosen. They said that it someone on a world found one of these relics and didn't turn it over, they would get killed, there family would be killed and so would the world they lived on!

  9. If we are wishlisting Legion dreadnoughts, I I like the idea of a updated version of the old mark 1 dreadnought which accompanied the old RTB01 beakie marines. Call it the Lucifer pattern, make it smaller and cheaper than normal dreads (financially and points wise) and say it was the original dreadnought used during the unification wars, but that it fell out a favour. Then say it was used as a stopgap to replace contempt or during the Heresy. Price it circa £25, make it available to all Legions, voila, best seller.

That said, I still will want to get one of these Custodes heavy dreads, too...

  10. I'm guessing when we get Custodes terminators they're ALSO going to be reminiscent of that beetle backed old terminator model? I really hope so. I love the combination of curves and ornate filigree on the Custodes. It's an amazing looking army.

    1. They said the custodes terminators were an early/prototype version of the cataphactii that the legions use. They didn't receive the update that the legions eventually took into service as they are stronger and better able to deal with the extra weight of the plate. No mention of design plans.

  11. Before giving this magnificent beast of auramite and adamantium to Legions, I would love FW to release a Contemptor for the Ultramarines. Being the only Legion without one is really becoming... awkward. Glad I am playing Custodes too. :^P

    1. There's a fair few Legion without one yet. Dark Angels, Blood Angels, White Scars etc.

    2. My guess is ultras won't get one, as I think they intend them to use the Relic version.

  12. I hope we see legion versions! This is a monster!! Aesthetically I like this model a lot better then the Leviathon but that is just me. It's awesome

    1. Yeah would love to see rules, is it not in the book?

    2. No rules for it yet and it is not in book 7, would expect them on its release. It is in early stages for it at the moment!

  15. In all honesty, I don't like it, the shoulder plates look not only impractical but silly. A bit of modification and it could work in my eyes.
If I was ever to get one though, it would probably only be to build a III Legion leviathan.
