My completed Shabran Darr

So after some turmoil and some time I have finally finished my Shabran Darr character. Very pleased with the outcome and came out much better than expected.

To create my Darr, I used the Gabriel Seth model and modified from that, including shaving off his armour adornments and also replacing the weapon to suit. In the Seth kit it comes with a chainsword but I was looking for a chainaxe so I constructed mine myself using two chainaxes and modifying them to make a double ended weapon.

Hope you all like the results, let me know what you guys think :)

World Eaters during the Great Crusade

So here is my take on the World Eaters during the Great Crusade according to the rules and lore we have in the Horus Heresy books we have so far. One of my favourite legions and glad I have been able to take them on. Ok so here goes:

Rules;

Incarnate Violence

I like this rule as it grants the Furious Charge rule which suits the legion well. With the brutality and terror they express it seems right that with the first kill they become even more vicious. This I think goes with the whole legion even way before the Great Crusade started so I'm happy with this rule.

Bloodlust

As above it shows the brutality of the legion but at the same time brings out the foolhardiness of the World Eaters. After defeating an enemy it seems only right that they would head straight for the next enemy without regard. This I believe suits the fluff even before the Butcher's Nails were fully introduced to the whole legion.

Blood Madness

For this rule it explains that this is where thethe World Eaters had started succumbing to the Ruinous Powers of the Warp, where they had descended into eternal bloodlust after slaying many of their brothers of their own and other legions. Because of the similarity between Blood Madness and Bloodlust I will most likely exclude this rule when playing during Great Crusade times. Where you start with the Rage special rule with Madness, you are able to inherit it in the Bloodlust rule after a failed morale check dice roll. Because of this it makes sense to only use the Bloodlust rule.

Chainaxes

I think we can all can agree that the signature weapon of the World Eaters are allowed all the way through the legions history!

Caedere weapons

Weapons which were revived by Angron himself include the meteor hammer and Excoriator Chainaxes. These are the preserve of the Rampagers. World Eater characters can also wield these if desired.

Rite of War: Berserker Assault

With this Rite of War comes the effects of Berserk Charge and Unstoppable Wave. These give the effects of Hatred and also allows the reroll of 1 on the run result. These effects don't seem to be Heresy only rules so I have no qualms with modifying these for Great Crusade play.

Units

The Red Butchers

These were initiated after the battle of Isstvan III. Due to the madness and barbarism that devoured the World Eaters after their hyper rage of killing so many foes. In history these individuals used to get put down but in this case were moulded into these monstrosities. Because these were introduced after Isstvan III I will not be using this unit during the Great Crusade.

Rampagers

These were part of the initial test subjects where Angron tried to implement the Butcher's Nails implants. These were found soon after Angron was discovered and these are perfectly fine for using during the Great Crusade.

Characters;

Centurion Shabran Darr

This character introduced in the Betrayal book is shown to be a young officer. This character is told to have fought to the end when his unit were betrayed on Isstvan III. According to the bio provided I am mote than happy to include him in a Great Crusade campaign.

Kharn the Bloody

This legendary character is well known for his work before the Heresy. I am very confident about his rules, the only thing I would need to ensure is that he only uses the Cutter and to not use the Gorechild option as this is only viable when Angron discards it after the Ultramarine ambush at Armatura.

Primarch Angron

I'm mostly happy with how Angron is portrayed in the books but I believe he falls behind a little bit when it comes to his statline. I believe they have made him a bit more vulnerable than he is portrayed in the lore. I understand he has his old gladiator gladiatoral armour so the 3+/4++ I have no qualms against this but with the frenzy and physical victories that this Primarch possesses I would like to suggest a tweak or two to his rule, either;

Increase his toughness or wounds by 1. Most realistic would be to increase the toughness because the Butcher's Nails are slowly killing him so excessive wounds make less sense

Or

Increase Angron's Feel No Pain roll to a 5+ rather than 6+. This would go hand in hand with the ferocity and savagery of Angron and give him a little more edge against harder characters and xenos monstrosities.

I hope you all enjoyed my ponderings into the World Eaters. Let me know if you have any ideas that I may have missed or if you agree with the above.

Look forward to more musings from us.

Legions on Parade: Alexandr Rodnischev's World Eaters

Hello Ladies, Gentlemen and Bunnies.

For your viewing enjoyment I present Alexandr's World Eater Legion.

Angron

A huge horde of Legionnaires.

A Storm Eagle circles the Castellum.

Orhlacc Knights' thralled to Angron's will.

Nice use of Weathering powder.

Red sands.

Alexandr:
I used gw, Vallejo paints, wilder pigments, tamia washes.
White basecoat washed grey wash, then put details. Shoulder pads made using dark Prussia blue and knorne red. Black green for eyes. Balthazar gold and gunmetal grey for shining parts, dwarf, elf and cadians flesh for skin. Thin washed black ink, some ligher paints and drybrushed white. Than black pigments on a weapons edge, red rust on a legs and for some weapons part.
Dreadnoughts, tank and eagle are painted he same, just a little more rusty and washed Vallejo rust between grey and black washes
Knights are from Orhlacc House, their coulor scheme is black and purple. Basecoated black for body and purple for purple, Balthazar gold, green lenses, washed black and druchi violet, then some transfers from baneblade, black pigments for weapons and pipes, red rust for metal details on a legs.
Base made from parts of aquilla flyer crushed in 4th gw starter and using red sand from red bricks.
Next project is five forge world Knights for my Orhlacc House.

As for Castellum stronghold, I used sandwich Penoplex for walls and bunker, green lights inside. Perlfix glue for making wall and bunker surface. The same for floor, but later I changed it by red sand for contrast. The idea was about a Natural fortress in some mountains made from rocks. Well bunker stil needs more details

Thanks for sharing Alexandr.

Karrus battle report: Karskug, World Eaters vs Orks battle 1

'Is this where the most fighting will take place?' Angron asked as he looked at the Topographical representation of B'tunn and it's surrounding areas. Khärn looked at his twitching Primarch and fought down his anger at such a simple question. He knew it was the introduction of the Butchers nails into his skull which had given him and his Legion such a short temper and the need to do harm drove them from warzone to warzone ever quicker. The practice cages were a welcome distraction where he and his brothers could release their anger and rage with the others of his Legion, but ever more the Gladiatorial arenas beckoned the older Warhounds. He re-focused his mind realising it had once again become distracted.
'Yes sire,' he spoke from beneath his Serum pattern faceplate, 'The Greenskins have fortified the captured city of B'tunn crudely but effectively. We are also expecting a lot of scout sized war engines along many routes into and around the city.' He heard clacking from above him and looked up into the scarred face of his Primarch, who was mashing his steel and ivory teeth together in what appeared to be an approximation of happiness and expectation.
'How big are these. . . engines?' He said as he stepped back away from the Holo-table and looked to the gantries about the great hall.
Khärn turned his eyes to the senior Captains gathered around, all of their postures showed a measure of disdain for the Lord of their Legion. Addon Krox who always went helmet less, if the situation allowed it, curled his lip in disdain at the comment and shook his head.
Khärn turned and walked around the war council to Angron. 'They make them in the image of their gods, supremely strong and cunning beings known as Gork and Mork as intelligence informs us,' Angron shook a hand at Khärn dismissing the reasoning and information being disposed and wanting more details about their capabilities, it was a gesture Khärn was getting all too use to seeing to his displeasure. 'Stompers - as they call them - are about ten to fifteen metres tall, almost as tall as the Warhound Titans you saw at Ghaptann.' Khärn received a flicker of annoyance at making his Primarch remember a war zone in the recent past.
'How tall in relation to that wall?' Angron asked pointing one massive chainaxe at the far wall. Khärn shot a glance over his shoulder incredulously for a moment to his fellow Captains, before moving closer and indicating to a beam.
'As tall as the third beam and as wide as a Phobos is long,' he said to him and dropped his hand.
'Ahhhh, a big engine then,' Angron replied readying his axes and stepping forward, 'Come to Angron; Lord of the Emperor's mighty World Eaters,' it came out derogatory and disdainful of his honorific and Legion, he dropped into a stance and swung his axes in brutal cutting arcs and chopping motions, so quick his movements were a blur.
Khärn watched as Angron finished his movements and buried Gorechild into the deck at his feet in a roar of biting and grinding teeth.
'Yes,' Angron answered his own question, 'I will enjoy this.' Angron wrenched his Chainaxe out of the thick steel decking and strode from the room, 'get me to as near as many of these Stompers as possible Khärn, apart from that; plan the war as you want.' The group watched Angron leave then turned back to each other.
'Leave it,' Khärn spoke first cutting off a fresh torrent of criticism of their Primarch, 'We can now plan this war with no distractions.' And with that a fate of a world was put into motion.

Hello everyone, and welcome to our first Karrus Campaign battle set on Karskug. This is a Prologue Campaign before Karrus really kicks off. So tune in and enjoy each week :)

Mission: Forlorn Hope (Planet strike) - Khärn has the Banner and must plant on a bastion to win the game, otherwise it is victory points.
