Regal Imperial Knight Artwork

Hi all

I have just seen this lovely piece of artwork on Facebook of a fantastic looking Imperial Knight that I thought I would share. You can see a Legio Custodes in the foreground for scale.

It has a fantastic design which I hope to see on the tabletop one day. A lovely Solarite Power claw and some form of esoteric cannon.

Hope to learn more of it soon.

GAMES WORKSHOP! We want the following!!!

Hi all.
"If I ruled the GW towers I would. . . ." Is a sentiment each one of us from time to time has stated. So with G' Dubs giving us more of what we want and it looks like it is getting more approachable and reasonable again, I though a good ol' fashion wish list would be good. So here is what the Bunnies want!

Battle Bunny's Tree topper.

Ladies, Gentlemen and Bunnies.

Here is our last Tree ornament; the Imperial Aquila of the Great Crusade.

We are very happy how the tree turned out and we are already coming up with some great ideas for next year.

One last little supposition that Kaelo and I have bounding between us is what they are going to do with the Custodes and Sisters of Silence. We know the models will be insanely popular, and as recently GW have taken the MKIV Legionnaires, maybe this is an example of what is to come.
Think about it, Prospero was meant to be book 4, it got pushed back. Why? Maybe the reason is FW knew they would not be able to keep up with their production or maybe GW wanted to make the range themselves.
"Hey FW, hold Prospero back a few years, we want to do the plastic range for Custodes and Sisters of Silence/battle" then they pick up the phone to Laurie Gaulding.
"Hey Laurie, we are doing plastic Sisters of Silence and Custodes. We don't want to do end times 40k yet, so can you create a story with all the top writers which has most of the 40k races reaching Terra so we can get the Custodes and Sisters of Silence involved."
"Yeah sure, I will get on it, be ready by end 2016."
Beast arises is created, Sisters of Silence are in art work already.

What do you think?

The Beast Arises

Hi all

Got a nifty email through from Black Library yesterday.

Quite a statement (including the fact book 1 is a Dan Abnett book).

So it is set around the 32nd Millenium. It's books all have the "the beast arises" tag in the top right and it is going to run for a whole year.

Just pondering that this may be the Stories for a series of Campaign books for GW which could get announced on the 17th?

If so, with GW selling Horus Heresy Plastic kits soon, this could be a "you can build a 30k force to fight in the Horus Heresy and combine it with your existing plastic range of 40k Space Marines to fight your Xenos friends" kind of series.

Just thinking aloud.

Join us on 17th to find out more.

New Primarch announced tomorrow?

Hi all.

As you should all know by now, we live for 30k and the whole Horus Heresy timeline. We look for patterns and trends which Forge World may be keeping to.

At the Horus Heresy weekender 2014 Mortarion was released (17th of July), the Wednesday before they showcased what would be at the event so you could start budgeting your spending :)

Now with another event imminent, and it being the Wednesday before tomorrow, I think excitement should be building.

So I believe we may see a sneak peak at the next Primarch tomorrow.

Egan Sculpted Roboute last, and we know Edgar has been sculpting one. The event on Sunday if following previous formats will not have seminars. If that is the case then could we see a WIP Primarch in a cabinet if not finished, I don't believe so as we have never seen a Primarch like that before.

I don't think it will be Dorn as the Imperial Fist gamers have been well and truly sated recently with the other 2 characters.

There is a chance it is Corax. Hayes has been looking into how they can make his jump pack work. I believe this will be done by Egan though as it is one of his favourite characters.

Alpharius is the other possibility, but Armillus was released not too long ago and so I think they have been looked after recently too.

So I believe we may see Perturabo tomorrow. 3D sculpted by Edgar and looking fantastic.

Other than that, possibly a Sokar, White Scar mk2 upgrade pack, The new Ultramarine squad, the Bloodslaves and their master, Ventanus and Transfers for the Iron Warriors, Alpha Legion and Night Lords too :)

Hopefully some more merchandise too including a Mug with a Titan "T" on it and maybe a Night Lord T-shirt.

Obviously Wishful thinking, but let's see if a pattern is followed.

What a Warhammer 40k / 30k gamer wants? They get?

Hi all out there.

GW have gotten lots and lots of stick in the past, ghastly models childish looking kits and them moving away from the Grim-Dark image of 40k most recently. They also got a lot of stick for price hiking, tearing down their Social media sites, not listening to fans etc etc. GW still make some mistakes (in my opinion Logan's sled, turning the Space Wolves Blue, Space Wolves on Wolves (FW will not be doing this thank god), the weird flying Land Speeder sermon machine of the Dark Angels, the Khorne Tonka train and Centurions) but their quality and design has got markedly better. The models look more dynamic than before and they appear to be listening to the fans more.
I am still concerned with the amount of Computer games being released (it seems almost daily at the moment), I just hope they don't dilute the hobby too much.

So the Question is: Are they being too good to us? Maybe the horrible monster has now become the good guy? It was Big Foot now it is Harry from Harry and the Hendersons?

Let's see. Please comment at the bottom too.

We wanted Chaos Cultists: We waited years and years, and finally we got them. Our Narrative battles are better and more detailed than ever, and with another box of the models rumoured with multiposable Cultists in the next year or so: Great.

We wanted Primarchs and the Horus Heresy: We got them! Forge World have done such an amazing job for the last 3 years with the Hobby, breathing a breath of fresh air onto our table tops.

We asked for Knights: Got them. Two lovely choices from GW (would have liked a Fist for Errant though grumble grumble) and five variants from Forge World. I would love to see GW do another Combi box of Crusader/Castellan instead of Forge World, who can tackle the Warden etc.

We asked for Skitarii: they have arrived. Now just for a "these choices were around in 30k" and the Bunnies will drop a wedge. As FW did with the Knights, I can envision a good few sets of weapon / head swaps at least for their versions.

We asked for Adeptus Mechanicus: we got Skitarii first and the rumours of an Adeptus Mechanicus codex approaching are rife.
Now attention. My thoughts why GW released the Skitarii seperately from the Adeptus Mechanicus Codex are; Skitarii were around in 30k but Adeptus Mechanicus was not (Mechanicum became Adeptus Mechanicus). Maybe this format will help GW release small mini-dex that are available or not available in the rumoured age of Darkness expansion. Could we see mini-dex of other armies which are fully 30k-able? The Astra Militarum were not around, but Storm troopers (as mentioned in places inc Mark of Calth) were, now I know the Storm troopers will vary in design through time and across the Galaxy, but this set May be GW's plan.

We want Plastic Thunderhawk: I think this is getting closer. FW have just made a Sokar Stormbird (which is almost the exact size of the Thunderhawk) and I really don't think there is room for both, especially as the rumours suggest the Lucius Warhound is getting retired soon. With the Sokar and Thunderhawk Landing pad approaching, I can see the Thunderhawk getting shifted to plastic in a year.

We want Plastic Warhound Titan: With the Lucius being possibly discontinued, could it be a good time to see this Chassis be re wrought in Plastic? With FW also talking about doing lesser Titan Chassis it could be a possibility. The Lucius armoured back / shoulders are not bigger than the Shrine of the Aquila, so a £170-£200 is not unfeasible.

We want Squats back: This will happen. I don't care what anyone says now, we are getting Squats back (possibly as Demiurg). Now this could also be another mini-Dex like the Harlequins and Skitarii? It could be. That way a base plastic force of them could be used in 30k as a force and also in 40k as a lesser race. We know they have written the Squats back in after a comment like "The Squat home worlds are thriving" in the last edition Rulebook. Forge World could easily pad them out in Campaigns to suit.

We want More Xenos: Humanity may own the stars in 30 and 40k but we really need some more races to fight!

We want Mini-Dex Tarellians: This is a species that was very prevalent in 30k throughout the Galaxy, and the Tarellian Dog Soldier imagery has been in many a Rulebook now. The great thing about this race is: they are still round in 40k as a Tau ally / Mercenary force (go mini-Dex!). If this Age of Darkness expansion arrives then a force / army like this will be extremely successful (especially as the Lizardmen in Fantasy have taken to the stars now - maybe it is a prelude?). All we would need is a Troop multi-pack, a few elite multi-packs and a few vehicle multi-packs and we are away!! The packs could come with basic options and Tau allied options. Go on Games Workshop!!

We want Mini-Dex Hrud: Same reasons as above really. In 40k and 30k, spread across the galaxy, very few choices required to make them a force and another army is born.

We want plastic Sisters of Battle: It's going to happen, it has too.

We want Rogue Traders: We know it is being planned, we have seen it in book 2 Massacre with notifications regarding a Rogue Trader list. Awesome. Bring these Characters in.

We want Custodes: With the recent End times from GW, it could be that GW is going to plan a story shift for 40k soon. Now if this is the case, GW might be releasing a plastic Custodes range for the inevitable war on Terra, if this is the case it could also be the reason FW postponed Inferno? We know they were told they were not allowed to do Knights as GW were planning on them in plastics.

I for one am happier with the Company than ever before (RTB01 era I first started) and just hope they continue the way they are. Just no more terrible looking childish kits please.

Forge World Mortalis; MORE TILES PLEASE!!!

Hi all

It has been a fair while since we have seen any additional Forge World Zone Mortalis tiles. With our 6x4 board approaching completion, I have been looking at it and thinking; it is missing a lot of standard ship features.
We know Forge World has not drawn a line under the range, so I have been sitting and thinking what additional features could we really do with?

Command Bridge.
All Starships need a command Bridge. Now these are described in 30-40k as vast theatre like areas with many Cogitator and command stations surrounding a central Throne. This straight away removes the possibility of a 1x1 as that would be way too small so would have to be a 2x2. It would also need to introduce the "edge of a Starship" style wall system too, big arched windows would be required on one edge.
They often have a long corridor running up to the main Bridge entrance which would have many sentry systems. This could easily be represented with the standard tiles and sentry towers (sold separately) over the fan square.
The bridge would also have a door to one side which would lead to a small war room and another to either the Captains Quarters or Navigation Blister stairs.

Navigator blister.
In most stories there is also a route to the Navigators blister from the bridge, sometimes mounted in the ceiling directly above and other times to one side. It is the place where the vessel's Navigator controls the ship from during it's flight through the Empyrean. It could be represented on a 1x1 tile. Normally they are linked to some fine austere chambers for where the Navigator(s) reside.
It is also widely recognised as the highest room on the ship.

War room.
Usually tiered and surrounded by cogitators and pict screens. A large Holographic dais would be in the centre of the room. This tile could get away with being a 1x1 which could be made grander with standard Mortalis tiles and additional Control terminals.

Captain's quarters / State room.
All Captains, Primarchs etc would have access to a grand suite where they would reside. Now these State rooms would be quite large to accommodate a significant dignitary, so I would imagine a 1x2 tile. It would have a lavish Gothic Sofa, bed, work station and Computer Terminal. Obviously some Characters would not use such grand chambers (Curze, Mortarion, Angron, Corax, Russ etc) so the Furniture should be movable / or just don't use the tile for those Primarchs.

Billets / Brig.
I imagine in 30k / 40k there is not much different between these two types. Functional plain rooms, it would even be questionable if they are required at all. I would love to see a range of furniture for them though.

Engineering.
This is where all of the Ship's main systems would be orchestrated / controlled through. It would need to be at least a 2x2 tile. I would like to see it as a Command tile with little or no Plant Machinery, as the bigger ships can have multiple Plasma Reactors which I would put on different tiles.

Plasma Reactor.
A large 2x1 tile with a large generator (similar to one of the new Forge World Cityscape tiles).

Warp drive.
A very important part to all interstellar vessels. It would need to be a large 2x2 tile. Below is a 40k image of a Warp drive. Obviously this may just be too tall. A shorter variation of this would be perfect.

Cargo lift.
A large Cargo Lift tile, big enough to hold a Fellblade. With control cabin / terminal. 1x2.

Water processing.
A recycling tile with lots of industrial pipes 1x2

Oxygen processing.
A oxygen processing tile with a series of fans and big Steampunk air pumps (similar to those on the Solar Auxilia Backpack) 1x2

Macro Cannon.
Ok. These are massive. Depending on the ship housing them they can be enormous or just big. It could be represented on a 1x2 to 2x2 tile. It definitely cannot be the ceiling hung edition below, but could be the slightly smaller one below that which is loaded by sled and Conveyor. It would need to be built into a vessel flank tile.

Torpedo chamber.
These can also be recognised as either Gigantic or possible. Some of John Blanches artwork shows Gigantic Torpedoes being dragged by a hundred serfs on bunches of chains, or by a smaller compliment of Serfs with Pringle tube sized munitions. It could be possible with 1x2 tiles but more likely to be 2x2.

Apothecarium
A medical ward could be achieved with just furniture. I really would like to see those dissecting tables that were released with the Anphellion project make an appearance again.

That is what I would like to see. What about you?

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook.

If I ruled Forge World . . . Wishful thinking . . .

So with all of the Lovely Heresy abundant in the world today I thought I would say how I would (as a fan of all things Forge World) plan releases.

Corax for HH Weekender (to even up the amount of Loyalists to traitors). He would be set up for his momentary dynamic duel with Curze Diorama.

Mortarion for July. Would release him on 7/7/14 for giggles.

Book 4: I would put Dark Angels and Sons of Horus in a Campaign together on Diamat. This is down to how much relatively little work (compared to the others) would be required to enter the first Legion in. I would also put in some lovely galactic conquest rule sets (similar but better than Planetary Empires) so people can fight on the Galaxy as a larger conquest.
I would also put White Scars in against Orks as well as a second Alpha Legion visit for kill team size games (to go with Conquest mission tables).
I would also include a large Mechanicum army list with either the Crusader, Castellan and/or Warden class Knight.
This book I would release at Gamesday with Lion el' Johnson on a Mechanicum board and if time permitted: get the Orks from GW Heavy Metal on a display against Jaghati Khan on a GW table with his Scars. Egan would do The Lion and Edgar the Hunter (finishing all Primarchs in one book in one fell swoop and giving a year to get the backlog out).
It would also have Sigismunds' raid on Mars.
I'd also get rules for the Mammoth out and a Space Marine Fighter (Fury iir).
It would also detail the Imperial Army.

2014 - 2015
I would have Edgar do second part of a Primarch Diorama with Curze and release at Openday.

Egan would release Vulkan for HH Weekender.
Would preview Atrocity book too. Ltd edition model would be Ingethel the Daemon.

Alpharius for July by Edgar

Atrocity would be book 5. It would have the Calth Atrocity and Signus. It would also have a Cultist / Daemon list (which ties in to both). I hate the current Daemon Codex as it takes too much work to set a game up so hopefully would tie in to a new Codex release.
It would also feature the Conflict of the Iron Warriors vs the Imperial fists from Angel Exterminatus to re-ignite interest in these two Legions as their Primarchs would not have been released yet. Rules for the Iron Circle would be included.
Maybe finally a Warlord Titan.

Gamesday would see a Robute Guilliman by Edgar and a Almost finished Sanguinius (to be released Nov / Dec).

2015 - 2016

Openday would see Perturabo by Edgar and his Iron Circle as a centre piece on a lovely defensive wall board against Imperial fists with massive trenches etc designed by Blake Spence!

HH Weekender will have Dorn by Egans.
Inferno will be previewed and a ltd ed Sister of Silence would be released.
The Rout and the Thousand Sons would be featured with the Adeptus Custodes and Sisters of Silence.
It would also have the Thramas Crusade and feature the Deliverence lost battle with Raven Guard and Alpha Legion.

Gamesday would have Inferno released with Russ and Magnus (Russ by Egans and Magnus by Edgar). This will complete all Primarchs at the release of this book on Gamesday 2016.

During this entire thing I would have Edgar, Egans, Robertson, Gonzalez and Whitehead taking it in turn to release the Knights Errant models starting with Garro. This I would do as a single model every month until all are complete. Blake Spence would set up a lovely Window Cil piece for the Knights Errant to go on. Us as hobbyists love to collect, and if we had the option of buying a £15 mini a month to go onto an ongoing display I'm sorry 90% of Heresy collectors would be all over it.

That's what I would do. What would you all do?

Forge World Bulletin 8: Legion vs Mechanicum and a Navigator.

2 awesome pics from Forge World on the Bulletin this week.

First we have the Horus Heresy Navigator ltd edition mini. It can be used in both 40k and Heresy so not in my opinion a full Heresy model that I would have liked, but throne it is exceptional!!! The detailing and the unveiled eye! Wow. You can just imagine the elaborate highlighting people will try to achieve with this mini.

Secondly:

Legion vs Mechanicum hey? Which Legion fought a Mechanicum force (keeping away from the obvious Battle of Paramar which they have done a board for already) in their first true Horus Heresy Novel where they get involved with the Galactic civil war that was unfolding and pre-emptively attack a Forge World? Hmm. . . A board being made to feature a new "book 4 Conquest" Conflict maybe?
I'm sorry I'm all in now. Book 4 Conquest will feature Dark Angels in my opinion. It's a good point to get Mechanicum to full strength and for Dark Angels to enter the fray. And what a perfect starting point for them too. It would be a very logical move for Sir Alan of Bligh and Mr Cottrell.

I say we are going to Diamat.

Forge World Release Speculation

Heya Bunnies.

I wanted to start by saying thank you to everyone who reads this. Gaming, painting and modelling in 30k is a dream come true to myself and Drake. We are glad to have you here for our journey, your journey, and what a pleasure it has been so far. Extermination was a fantastic round-off to a phenomenal achievement - the opening trilogy. Making some of the most horrendous and devastating wars of Warhammer history playable has been spectacular. The Heresy series by Forge World has been tremendously popular and the fanbase grows daily. Our own blog has started to enjoy regular readers and commenters, which makes us very proud. Thank you.

So, the dust has settled on Istvaan III, Ancient Rylanor is hanging on his lonesome while carrion birds feed on the decrepit remains of the betrayed on Istvaan V. But what of the rest of the war? We know their is another trilogy coming but not alot else. I used to believe that it would be Book 4: Inferno, released at Games Day 2014 with Leman Russ in a dual with Magnus but, after conversations with Alan Bligh at open day, maybe Prospero won't burn as soon as we believe- I look into this a little bit more later...

Here is my opinion (complete conjecture based on no imperial truth) on what will be heading our way over the next 3 books. 12 legions down. 6(8) to go. This is in no particular order and is based on the books in the trilogy being the same length as the first trilogy. If FW decide they will do smaller books then this becomes invalid.

Angels and Daemons (catchy right? Lol)
In my opinion the book based around the Blood Angels in the Signis cluster and Dark Angels in, as yet, unconfirmed campaigns, will be the quickest and easiest to complete and was hinted at during a seminar at Games Day last year. Exactly the type of project that can be completed in 4 months and released at Games Day THIS year. Both legions involved were less divergent during the Great Crusade/Heresy and would therefore only need small releases. The only reason this may be pushed back is to tie-in with a fleshing-out of the Dark Angels by Black Library.

Blood Angels Special Units:
Sanguinary Guard - I remember these, or a variation of them, being around in 'Fear to Tread,' it makes sense they would get rules. Probably quite similar to the ones in 40k....just less depressed lol.
Deathstorm Strike Force - either enter from drop assault or deepstrike (jump pack). This is a formation that the Blood Angels used. Maybe charge from reserve?

Blood Angel Special Characters:
Raldoron - First Captain. Just because he is probably the most notable in Heresy alongside the next guy...
Nassir Amit - Fifth company captain, also known as the Flesh Tearer. He is super cool :)

Primarch:
Sanguinius - the Angel, the last flying Primarch lol. Can't wait to see this dudes model. Hopefully he will eventually fit into a dual with bad-man Horus. His rules should be at least equal to those of Angron.

Rite of War:
Something to do with speed and drop pods lol...

Dark Angels Special Units:
Not really sure about these. Maybe Deathwing and Ravenwing? Of 2 of the other 6 wings they have? Lol

Dark Angel Special Characters:
Corswain - because he was very active against the Night Lords.
Luther - he was massive in the history of the chapter.

Primarch:
Lion El' Jonson - bit of a douchebag. Have a feeling he will be quite tough though.

Rite of War:
They were a very effective legion, not sure how this will be portrayed. As long as they don't automatically give continent-destroying siege weapons to Iron Warriors in every battle I don't mind...

I think the Angels and Daemons book will focus around the Signus cluster battles and Dark Angels against Sons of Horus and Night Lords. The Daemon rules are already released through GW. Maybe just add in some nice models with cool rules?

Inferno:
This book will be a big undertaking and I don't feel it would be completed by Games Day. There is too much to do:
2 quite divergent legion army lists
Custodes
Sisters of Silence
I will be so impressed if this is completed AND play-tested fully in 5 months.

Vlka Fenryka Special Units:
A named destroyer squad - not entirely sure but they seem very proud of their underhanded and unethical way of war. We know they used them.
Wulfen - these mutant-abominations were rife in the legion during the Great Crusade. Weird how the Emperor ignored that....

Vlka Fenryka Special Characters:
Bjorn - Alan Bligh practically confirmed this at open day
Lord Gunnar Gunnhilt - because he is the captain of the Routs first company
Othere Wyrdmake - because, you know, you have to have an ironic inclusion in the war against the psykers lol

Primarch:
The Wolf King - Leman Russ with Freki and Geri. Drake believes that Simon Egans is working on this now. He should be a tough Primarch, no doubt. I hope they keep a level head and don't pamper to the very whingy and vocal Space Wolf fans and make him tougher than Angron. Eh Drake? Lol ;)

Rite of War:
Something completely brutal...army-wide rage? Lol

Thousand Sons Special units:
Probably be small psyker squads based around some of the disciplines.

Thousand Son Special Characters:
Ahriman - he has got to be there right?
Phosis T'Kar - Leader of the Raptora
Hathor Maat - Leader of the Pavoni

Primarch:
Magnus the Red - will be an awesome model I'm sure. I hope he is psyker level 4 and can choose to use any 4 each turn.

Rite of War:
Maybe this will change depending on the HQ choice taken? Different brotherhoods have different generic army-wide powers?

Custodes:
These guys will be really tough. Constantin Valdor will definitely be in there. Maybe others will too?

Sisters of Silence:
Really looking forward to these, not just as a model range but rules-wise too. I reckon that it could be something as simple as a modifier to your deny the witch role depending on how many sister units are within range. Kendal is a must too.

I am looking forward to this book, but with the sheer amount of content it will take longer than 4-5 months to write and publish. If this is the next book released, don't expect it at Games Day 2014...in my opinion :)

Atrocity:
I am looking forward to this book more than anything I can think of currently...no joke....
I can't wait to field Roboute Guilliman. Anyway...in my opinion it makes sense to put the White Scars in this book (my final legion lol) and do a short campaign on Chondax against Orks. Could do some new units and models just to complete the range. I also believe we will see the Imperial Army list in this book.

Ultramarine Special Units:
Guilliman has an honour guard, I cant remember the name. Drake will edit this with it. Lol
I think that will likely be it.

Ultramarine Special Characters:
Marius Gage - 1st company commander. Fought on Calth.
Aeonid Thiel - because he is wonderously epic!
Remus Ventanus - 4th company commander. Lead the ground battle of Calth.

Primarch:
The Avenging Son - Roboute Guilliman. I know he isn't the hardest Primarch. But please remember, he defeated Lorgar before being charged by Angron, he then fought both briefly and held his own! He was defeated in the end and would have died. As far as we know he is also the only loyal primarch to kill another primarch. I just hope his rules have him as being at least as good as the top-tier primarchs lol

Rite of War:
Efficient. Maybe slight point reduction on units?

White Scar Special Units:
Keshig - should come in terminator or power armour flavours. Bodyguards to a Khan.
Bike unit - some fast close combat bike unit please!!

White Scar Special Characters:
Qin Xa - head of the Keshig
Yesugei - bad-ass librarian. Probably my favourite non-primarch character.
Shiban Khan - pivotal in the continued loyalty of the legion.

Primarch:
Jaghatai Khan - known as the Warhawk and the warrior. Not a lot is known about him. He is a very well thought of combatant. Be interesting to see how tough he is. Hope he comes with a bike option.

Rite of War:
Speed, speed, speed! Expert rider all round lol

Titan Legion's Lysander and Oberon - worked alondside the Ultramarines on Calth.

Imperial Army:
Will hopefully be similar to that of Imperial Guard (not gunna call them that stoopid new name). Just hope they come with a nice model range which is slightly more to scale the current enormous Cadian lol

And thats my belief for the next 2 years. If you want to discuss or expand on what I have written, please do so below :) interesting times lol

There will obviously be other units thrown in here and there, as well as other characters (where the hell is Lucius? Lol)

Thats it from me for now though. Thanks for reading :)

Primarch release schedule suppositions.

Well we have just settled down from the incredible release that was Horus the Warmaster and we are asking ourselves who is next. So let me just put my thoughts down again.

Let me first say in my opinion which Scupltor of the Two on the Primarch project in my view should sculpt which Primarch on or suggested on the Horizon:
Egan:
Leman Russ (he has already reserved this apparently, if book 4 is Inferno then he needs to be at Gamesday).
Vulkan (he worked on a lot of the Iconography in the past and has a stature comparable to Horus and Ferrus).
Perturabo (I think he will be doing Perturabo mainly due to having done Ferrus' Hammer, he may get him done quicker than 3 months as has less detail).

Skomorowski:
Curze & Corax (they duelled on Isstvan V, both will have very dynamic poses and if given the chance they could become the table toppers for another huge battlefield like Ferrus and Fulgrim. I really think he could do these flying Primarchs Justice, and get through them quick too).
Dorn (I would love to see him do a big noble Primarch).
Alpharius (Lorgars' pose was so noble I think its stature could be transferred well onto Alpharius).
Magnus the Red (I still expect to see this at Gamesday 2014. Forge World will try to have book 4 out by then and I still hedge my bets that we might see this brute for a centre piece with Russ.
Sanguinius (Lorgar had amazing detailing so I would expect the Angel to have the same, this will be a challenge for either Sculptor as his face will need to look Beatific.

Primarch 5 Was Horus the Warmaster. He was being worked on in September and a lot of time and effort was put in to make do the Arch-Traitor justice. So Simon Egan was on him for a fair old while, atleast on and off (maybe) from August to late February early March (again a supposition). This means it takes Egan around 4-6 months to do a Primarch (a highly detailed one). At the Openday he was really keeping his lips sealed about which Primarch he was working on currently, and this can be construed as a Primarch from a Forthcoming book (according to Sir Alan of Bligh; still up in the air) or to tie in with the "Amazing surprises" on 2014's Horus Heresy Weekender! (Which the Battle Bunnies are attending). All we know on which Primarch he is working on is: he has very embellished armour.

Primarch 6 Edgar Skomorowski has a Primarch ready to be released right now and we will see it on or before the Horus Heresy Weekender. Popular belief is that it is Mortarion to round off book 1s' cast. This also is backed up from the Typhon model he created (which is incredible) and the hint he gave at the end of his interview for the Typhon model. Outside candidates for me would be BOTH Corax and Curze. For instance: if he has finished Corax and is working on a second; an incredible surprise would be to see two Primarchs by the same Sculptor at one event, especially as they wear relatively unadorned armour. Would be a shame to miss the boat on the Isstvan V bandwagon and not showcase their encounter.
Simon has said his next Primarch will be previewed at the Horus Heresy Weekender, maybe as they reveal their next book project.

Primarch 7 Egan may get another Primarch out before Edgar releases his third one. I currently believe it to be Vulkan or Russ. This all depends on whether FW are to be releasing another Horus Heresy book at Gamesday. As really this will be a new setting so should have a Primarch to showcase it. I am leaning heavily towards Russ. This would give him 5-6 Months before Gamesday and considering Russ has Freki and Geri, I really think he needs all the time he can get.

Primarch 8 Magnus the Red should be on the board too. You only get one chance to impress with a new book and range Launch and Skomorowski is more than capable of doing this Primarch justice.

This would round off the year completely and very well. The Inferno book could quite possibly have a wealth of other bits such as Sisters of Silence and Custodes etc. this would also give the team a whole year to get the likes of Corax, Curze, Perturabo, Alpharius and Vulkan wrapped up. Only issue is the other characters may take another Back seat.

Good luck guys. Keep up the great work!

Forge World Wishful thinking at Gamesday

Ok. So what is going to be the big FW surprises at Gamesday?

Ferrus: We know Ferrus will be there. That is almost 100% certain. Update - He will be there!
Kor Phaeron and Erebus: This will be the other character series models that I reckon will be there. With the pics of Kor almost finished in White Dwarf a month ago (which would have been taken sometime before that) I would say there is a 70% chance of them being there. Update - They will be there!
This brings us to 2 Boxes of the character collection. So I really really think that will be it. No 2nd Primarch this year at Gamesday. When you take into account Simon Egan putting his talented fingers to Ferrus since JulyI don't think he would have had time to do 2. The only other sculptor in the Heresy series so far is Edgar Skomoroski who is doing Erebus and Kor Phaeron, and rumour has it will be doing Lorgar.
If anyone might pick up another character it may be Steve Whitehead (of Palatine blade fame), but I would not be sure what or who. Same with Keith Robertson (Phoenix Guard) who is also exceptional.
At this point I would like to say: Throne. . . Forge World your sculptors are all awesome.
Circle of Ashes: Word Bearers Destroyer squad will be there in my opinion, having seen it in progress at the Weekender 90%. Update - will be there!
Kharybdis: gorgeous drop pod. Centrepiece of awesomeness. This will look amazing on the Isstvan 5 board. 80%
Vindicator: still new on the picture circuits I would say 60%. Update - will be there!
Karcophoni: More EC! 60%. Update - will be there!
Space Marine Fortification tile: Blake has been working on it since June I think judging by its standard at the Horus Heresy Weekender. I would bet it is there. And on the big board too!

Now for the outsiders.
Typhon: I reckon Typhon has a shock appearance chance of being there. This is to patch the absence of any love for the Death Guard Characters in the Series so far - this may be early sculpt stage
Emperors Children Command: Emperors children Captain and Standard Bearer (as they get so much love anyway why not).
Khärn: Working progress.
Fire Drakes: Work in progress.
Cityscape tiles x2: I also think there is a chance of 2 new Cityscape tiles that Blake has found time to do (or more Mortalis).

Further predictions:
Mortarion: For a Halloween release. I think that would be lovely shock.
Massacre Characters: Lucius, Vairosean, Mor, Wayland, Kor Phaeron, Erebus, Sevatar, Mawdrym, Numeon, Heka'tan, Khärn and Delvarus. And obviously the Primarchs.

This is all from my own opinion and is just Wishful thinking. I don't deal with hearsay and gossip etc just observations, previews etc. The great thing about FW is they don't show the Primarch's til they are actually complete. But still show the fans enough to keep them happy and excited about the future of the Heresy.

Thanks to them all.

The Horus Heresy Characters: Legionnaires which we want to see from Forge World.

Now obviously the Horus Heresy Campaign series from Forge World will be totally epic. The models brought out so far have been outstanding and the units have brought a new fresh breath to Space Marine players across the world.
Ever since I first saw the Space Wolves (or as I now only refer to them as The Velka Fenryka) back in 1994; I was in love with the image of the Space Marine. Super soldiers with enough armour to build a tank; yet ballsy enough to not wear a helmet. They were my heroes.

Then I read through the original Codex Space Wolves; and learned of Leman Russ. Primarch, Demi-God and Lord of Astartes. This character I was blown away by, and as more information was created or released about him I absorbed it all. My Brother and I would spend days and days speaking about the Primarchs and how we always thought 'they would bring them back next year'. And that's what it continued to be; It was always next year. We thought all the signs pointed to an advancement of the timeline, our Heroes would return and a new age of Gaming would be revealed. But GW never ever released them into 40k nor did it advance the storyline beyond a few Campaign books.

Then thankfully Black Library began to characterise them in the Horus Heresy Book series and turned the dark past of 30k into a reality. I remember how awesome it was when I first read about Primarch Horus Lupercal in the novel 'Horus Rising'. The effect his presence had on his Legionnaires whilst just being in the same room was palpable. Then we were introduced to the characters which still terrorise the Galaxy in the 41st Millennium. The likes of Abbadon, Lucius and Kharn. At first I was of the opinion that GW had done a Star Wars episode 1 on us, but swiftly changed my mind.

Then Forge World has begun to create a series of models for this amazing timeline; and we just had to be a part of it. I myself will be collecting 3 Legions: Death Guard, Night Lords and the Velka Fenryka. All of which have really diverse Primarchs and characters, which leads me onto the true subject of this post. I believe Forge World will release the Primarch (3 iterations of many of them) and 3-4 Characters (either of their own creation or from the works of the Black Library) for each Legion.

Below is a list of the characters I believe should be released.

1: Dark Angels: Luther & Cypher, Corswain & Astelan.
2: Expunged
3: Emperor's Children: Saul Tarvitz & Lucius, Marius Vairosean & Eidolon.
4: Iron Warriors: Forrix & Kroeger, Barban Falk & Toramino.
5: White Scars: need more characterisation in the series sadly.
6: Velka Fenryka: Ogvai Helmschrot Ohthere Wyrdmake, Gunnar Gunnhilt & Bjorn.
7: Imperial Fists: Alexis Polux & Sigismund, (then possibly Efried & Camba Diaz).
8: Night Lords: Sevatar & Sheng, (then possibly Tovak Tor & Alastor Rushel).
9: Blood Angels: Raldoron & Azkaellon, Nassir Amit & Meros.
10: Iron Hands: Gabriel Santar & Sabik Wayland, Ulrach Branthan & Cadmus Tyro.
11: Expunged
12: World Eaters: Shabran Dar & Khârn, Kargos "Bloodspitter" & Delvarus.
13: Ultramarines: Marius Gage & Remus Ventanus, Tylos Rubio & Nathaniel Garro (Death Guard).
14: Death Guard: Durak Rask & Crysos Mortug, Holgoarg & Calas Thphon.
15: Thousand Sons: Ahzek Ahriman & Phosis T'kar, Amon & Hathor Maat.
16: Sons of Horus: Garviel Loken & Ezkyle Abaddon, "Little Horus" Aximand & Tarik Torgaddon.
17: Word Bearers: Kor Phaeron & Erebus, Argel Tal & Hol Beloth.
18: Salamanders: Numeon & Heka'tan (more to come).
19: Raven Guard: Branne & Agapito, Nykona Sharrowkyn & Solaro.
20: Alpha Legion: Alpharius & Alpharius, Alpharius & Alpharius. (Or Sheed Ranko and Ingo Pech.)

Also think: Macer Varren & Iacton "the Half Heard" Qruze will fit in somewhere.

I will keep my theories updated.

Primarch Fulgrim at Horus Heresy Weekender

Here he is. Primarch Fulgrim the Illuminator. Only a snippet of the model can be seen at the moment, but already you can see how glorious this model will be. You can see that he has been designed to eventually find himself in a Diorama stand, for him to face off in his famous duel with Ferrus Manus.

Thanks Simon. The Bunnies will be buying him at the Horus Heresy weekender. We can't wait. Khall will probably try to hug you too.

Also a Davinite Serpent Lodge priest. This model treads straight out of the Horus Heresy Artwork. Absolutely beautiful mini. Lets hope there are some rules for him eventually, like there were in the card game. This will be the third event only model to be released this year by Forge World.

Otherwise the new book has been announced too. The Imperial Truth is a Horus Heresy Anthology with Thorpe, McNeil, Sanders, Kyme, Bowden and Swallows all writing stories which will be included.

Don't forget to follow us on Twitter for event talk and some Horus Heresy giveaways which will be coming soon.

The Battle Bunnies' Forge World Zone Mortalis.

I still remember when I saw the Zone Mortalis range by Forge World for the first time. I called Khall Sithis and said "Go to Forge World's website right now and look in the new releases." I still remember listening him narrate what he was typing to get there whilst on the phone, before saying . . . . Wow.

Immediately I worked some overtime and ordered enough to make a 3x3 board. It was a whole new dimension to gaming and one which made me break my un-written rule: "you can't play it if it isn't painted." The tactical side of the game was amazing. The close range fire fights was incredible. It became quickly apparent that we would need more. So I ordered another eight tiles giving me a 4x4.

But that was not enough. As soon as I saw the open floor tiles which were released from Forge World I immediately ordered 4 (and sold a spare cross section. That gave me 5x4.

And today I have arrived home to find the last four tiles have arrived. I now have a 6x4 board with around 9 doors as well as the containment tanks and other accessories.

Having gone to speak to Blake at the open day; I decided to beg for some things:

1) I would love to see a Bridge for a star ship. This should be a 2x2 tile. We do need to see things like this as a objective for games.

2) An Engineering tile 2x2 with lots of terminals and a reactor core.

3) A Drop Pod jettison tile. With spaces on the floor to jettison Drop Pods (like in the Game Fire Warrior). A drastic race to leave a crumbling star ship would be amazing.

4) Horus' Throne Room. The final battle will be fought here. And that needs to be bigger than 1x1.

5) More accessories.

6) the side of a starship with optional boarding Torpedo bits which can be removed and placed. As well as gunnery pieces. Silence the guns game anyone? :)

So they are all my wishful thoughts for today. Hope you read this Blake. Doing a great job. Keep it up.
I will do a painting guide for these when I finish the City Board.

In the meantime: It's time for another Zone Mortalis Bath time.
