Khall Sithis; Which Primarch is after Guilliman?...my theory.

Hello Everyone.

Wow. What a tremendous event. Fantastic models at various stages, cool books and loads of very passionate hobbyists and designers.

So, we have seen that sensational Guilliman preview and we have had mixed feelings. 'Yeah he is great but where is Dorn, Perturabo, Corax and Alpharius?' Seems to be the general consensus lol. The question was asked to Tony and he has said that providing the rules for 12 Primarchs in 18 months was probably a bit ambitious with all the other cool stuff we have been lucky enough to see. Alan Bligh then comically stated that 'the only reason Dorn was included in Extermination, is because we didn't want to be lynched!' Which roused some chuckles.

I was one of the people who believed it was going to be Dorn previewed at this weekender alongside Perturabo. Look at the line-up of the weekend. It was very Imperial Fist and Iron Warrior heavy. No better time to release the 2 together - in my opinion.

So here is my opinion based on information gleaned from the Weekend.
- While speaking with the awesome Simon Egans, he said that he had already done some small planning on the next Primarch. He said it was a project that he had been struggling with around part of their equipment and only this morning he and Will Hayes had come up with an idea to sort it. Not much to go on until the Tempest Seminar where, when asked 'What about Corax??' Tony replied that Corax had been moved around the schedule a lot due to problems in the design process. So, reading into this, I believe Corax is next.

Tony also said that he believed the Primarch's would be up to date before they do 'Santa (Russ) and the Wizard (Magnus)' which will be out before the end of next year (all going to plan - Prospero will be huge!).

In that time though, Armatura and the Shadow Crusade will be released (by end of this year) which could mean the first of the Daemon Primarchs being released - when asked Alan or Tony said 'we aren't going to say/spoil the surprise!' - and maybe even the Lion or Sanguinius depending on what is included.

One thing is for certain; it is going to be mind-blowing!!

What are your thoughts?

Khall

  1. Corax makes perfect sense according to what you've said. Maybe the design problems relate to his jumpack or the wings on his jumpack that appear in much of the artwork? Will Hayes would defo be the man to sculpt those elements.

The 1st daemon prince must surely be Angron? Wouldn't surprise me if he's in book 6.

    2. Perhaps it could also be his "whip" which he uses from Istvaan onwards, that would be fragile if it was not sculpted stored.

  2. For a "Imperial Fist and Iron Warrior heavy" weekend; is there any new on iron warriors? we still have nothing more than shoulder pads and a dreadnought, not even an upgrade pack and I haven't seen any photos of new iron warriors stuff, were there any clues as to when we'll see it?

    1. I am sure they said the terminator unit is being worked on and they said that Perturabo's robot bodyguard will turn up soon too!

They also hinted at some awesome stuff for them in the future as Perty starts to distrust his legion and creates more and more robots and tanks...it might take a while but it will be sooo worth it!

  3. I talked to Edgar Skomorowski (who you will remember sculpted mortarion) , and he was telling me that he was currently working on a Primarch, but obviously couldn't tell me which one. He did say it was going to be the first primarch done using CAD (Like the Solar Auxillia). I was therefore surprised when Simon Egan was announced as doing Gulliman. So, with two in parallel development, we might see another Primarch sooner rather then later.

    2. How come you're sure? I'm intrigued :P I'd love a perturabo model, I really wanna play a phall campaign and he'd be a cool centrepiece (could play the boarding of the Iron Blood :O )

    3. Yup. 100% Perturabo. Egan said to me a long time ago that he won't be doing Perturabo, he believed that Edgar would be doing it with 3D tech.

  4. Sounds like Edgar is on Perturabo while Egan juggles Guilliman and Corax! That sounds like our 2015 releases sorted, with Dorn and Alpha early 2016 and the big boys late 2016, with a potential Deamon Angron somewhere in the mix! Sounds awesome!!

    1. If I am correct then that only leaves the Lion, Sanguinius and the Khan! Surely they will complete the range before offering too many resculpts / daemon primarchs..

  5. I really, really hope the hypothesis about Corax being the aforementioned project is real, because Will Hayes is my favorite sculptor. Every weapon kit he's put out has been amazing. I dislike Mortarion but his scythe is great, and Hayes did that part. If this means Hayes is a joint sculptor and worked on Corax's pinions that would be awesome.
