Pre-Heresy Iron Hands: Tactical Squad Maximin

Hello everyone :)

This is my first post just giving you a look at what I have completed so far for my Iron Hands Clan Company (bar a few transfers). I am going to be doing these posts on a gradual basis probably featuring a unit at a time. Tonight it's First Tactical Squad Maximin:

I personally really like giving my marines as much character as I can, so I'm a big fan of Forgeworld's upgrade sets for the legions. The Iron Hands squad really does give you a lot of variation with its unique arms and bionics, so I tried to make their poses as dynamic as I could.

I have also given my sergeants a plume on their helmets to demonstrate their authority, to do this I bought the Mk II command upgrade set and transferred the plume to a Mk III helmet. I just prefer the way the plume looks compared to the actual Mk III command helm :). The squads name comes from the surname of my captains first sergeant Alexander Maximin. I really liked how Loken's squads were named after their sergeants, so I'm going to use this too in my company. I'm hoping he can then become a character in the campaign and be my captains right hand man, like Nero was for Loken.

So I hope you like them, I do have my Iron Father finished and my Iron Captain Aveinus Kaane in the pipeline so I will keep sharing my company and it's progress with you all :). Oh and apologies for not having any display board, I need to invest in one!

Thanks again,

Aveinus Kaane

    Love the plasma-pistol - stunning blue =)

And no worries - you don't need a display board to show of your models, that can wait :)

  4. Just like the Lady says the blue works so well. The colour scheme really gives the marines that bulky, powerful stature they should have. Great stuff.

    1. Thanks for the feedback! The kit is great for making the legionaries look powerful and cold like the Iron Hands should be. The straight arms allow you to make them look as though they are striding forwards scaring the hell out of the Purokar League :P
