Seeing Betrayal of Calth up close

So I am in GW now and have my first sights, it looks awesome. I know pictures have already surfaced but I am very happy to have my first physical look!!!

I am also having my first game in store. Quite a good looking dynamic in my opinion!!

Get down to your local store now!! And check out Forge World later for the new bundle releases!!

    1. The boards could be used as Zone Mortalis but they do not have the Zone Mortslis Rule sets within. The Hexagons that have a red edge block line of sight. The dashed ones count as cover. Would be tempted to do a 3D version of the board. Could be a fun little project.

  2. The sprues do look pretty decent. There is a bit of mould shadowing that you can't avoid with plastic kits (shoulder pads with rivets on the extents). But for a plastic mkIV set I would say they stand up. The Contemptor I really believe will be a box set equivalent of the Hellbrute in Dark Vengeance. The characters look good though, already planning where I can fit them in. Everyone genuinely seemed to be enjoying the game (beer and pizza type game), with some people being sold on it then and there.

  3. Thanks for the coverage and lead up. I have my boxes pre-ordered from the online store. It's a shame my nearest GW is a pain to get too and family prevents the travel.

  4. I must say the minis look better in the official photos than the leaked ones.
Thanks for the release day coverage

  5. Nice to see people being pleasantly surprised by the game! Obviously my first reason for ordering it was for the models, but I'd really like to play the game now!

    1. Darko is working on a post reviewing gameplay as we speak.

  6. I think the game is cool for playing with ~12 models per side (if we get more cards for other units and maybe races) - or for a pretty fast game, but for propper ZM games I'll continue to use the FW rules ^.^ (and board)

    2. in theory yeah (same with the Space Huulk tiles), but I'm more a fan of 3D boards ^^

    3. Me too, but cost and storage are the problem :(

    4. tbh, the Zone Mortalis boards aren't that bad to storage as they are smaller - better than the bigger FW boards (but oc not that easy as the GW board)

    5. If you and a friend have a box set each theres no reson why you couldnt link up all the boards and have a bigger style game they say

  8. I think the models look great. It's a shame the contemptor isn't more versatile, but then that is offset by the price-tag. I hope GW release further plastic kits for 30k!
