Been asked to do a Corax unboxing. Never done one before so please be gentle but honest lol
Corax's body:
Corax's Head:
Corax's arms and weapons:
The Flightpack:
It is a fabulous model with great detail. Looking forward to washing him in a few decades time when I get round to him lol. The face and pose are the only areas I may change. Though they are fantastic, they don't fit with how I want my model to look. If I was doing it as a display piece I wouldn't change a thing.
What do you think of the model and please, tell me how I can improve this type of article in the future. Are these even popular articles?
Let me know lol
Kaelo
Looks pretty good.
ReplyDeleteIs there mould slippage on the head?
Other than that looks pretty good.
Looks like a good kit! Loads of detail!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you did the article, easy and clean.
ReplyDeleteConcerning the model, I want to like him, but I can't. His head and hair look horrible (like Syndrome from the Incredibles movie, as someone over on faeit said)
The pose equals to 90% the one of Fulgrim and does not help Corax to look interesting. A bigger jetpack with less flimsy wings would look better imo.
When you compare this model's details with the one of Gulliman, Corax loses again.
I was thinking exactly the same and you're right about the similarity to Fulgrim as I hadn't spotted that. Looks like the hair from one of the bad first edition Dark Eldar Warriors.
DeleteSadly, it's a poor model in my eyes.
The previous pics didn't show all the details in the armor. Nice!
ReplyDeleteAh nuts... I guess that locks in the one claw/pistol configuration.
ReplyDeletewho has carved?
ReplyDeleteGreat unboxing, thanks alot. All the pictures are great, although front head pic duplicated, would love a side close up view of tge head. I agree, us that mould slippage from his mouth to chin? Or just image issue?
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps for a great unboxing Kaelo :-)
Oops put in a duplicate..well picked up lol. Amended above. That ok or more of an angle?
ReplyDeleteSife on view would be awesome. Hmm, looks like it really is a mold slip though, u gonna contact FW for a replacement, looks painful to fix, although you would have a more unique corax :-P
DeleteWhats your plans with his face and pose change?
***side view. fat fingers on a mobile :-(
DeleteExcellent unboxing, I think you nails it on the first attempt. still don't like the head though.
ReplyDeleteIs it the hair that you don't like about the head?
DeletePeople are being harsh as hell on Corax.
ReplyDeleteDon't like him? Don't buy him. Sculpt your own.
The whining community needs to go back to 40K.
(I'm not talking about anyone in this thread!) ;)
DeletePhew lol ;)
DeleteI think that he was highly anticipated by a lot of people, and for some he falls short. And if you think it's bad now, wait for the Emporer.
DeleteBrilliant article-all the right parts in all the right places... ;)
ReplyDeleteAs for the kit, it looks really good but it's lo wish on my To Buy list so you'll probably have it built, painted and dusted a few times before I get round to buying it...
I'm looking forwards to seeing how you get on with him...
They cut a circle out of both shoulder pads for his arms...
