Horus Heresy Weekender: Knight Acastus Porphyrion

Hello all!

Check this beast out! It is a new Knight Chassis. The Acastus. They sub type is Porphyrion.

I got the rules too but I have been asked not to. They have a Magna-Lascannon which is amazing!

It has 2 Autocannons which can be upgraded to Lascannons at its arm pits. 

What do you think?

    Bunnies, I applaud your coverage. Was there any discussion on weapon options? Perhaps on ancillary weapons? I notice 2 stubber like barrels. Thank you.

      I think it will be like with the Cerastus, so more variants down the line ^.^

      Currently called a magma las cannon str 10, ap1 2x5" blasts.

    I think those ancillary shoulder mounts are autocannons from the looks of it. An interesting new Knight pattern for sure, be interesting to see the rules when they appear.

    I wonder how many points this puppy will be, making me reconsider my decision to make a DKoK army while i wait for admech releases to save it all for this to form a knight force.

    From reading above about the stats, would make a glorious addition to my admech stuff.

      The middle launcher is a heavier version of the ionstorm pod. 5 shots instead of 3. Stats seemed the same.

      The model is static in the pictures but is as possable as a cerastus

      Nice to know cheers, though i dont mind its stock photo pose it will be nice to see how variable it can get, could make an interesting centrepiece so long as my very novice abilities can handle it :)

      Do you mean the Stormspear? The Ironstorm is the Whirlwind Launcher, the Ironstorm is the 3shot Krak missile launcher.

      Hi Thomas. If it was to come out without a nod to the old Rogue trader models I would possibly agree with you. This was known as the Warden Knight back in the day (then Games Workshop just decided to play silly buggers with the old IP). I like it. Goes with the old old old epic style.

    It's growing on me. I like the heavier weapons. I don't see it getting in close at all, if it can help it.
    It's a bit too round for my taste. But again, it's growing on me.

    Did anyone see how many points it was worth?
    Also, is its side armor higher than a Questoris Knight?
    What makes it an Acastus Knight? Cerastus have sprint, what does this get?

      I think it was in the region of 435 pts.
      Yep. It is higher.
      Nothing special yet. But it's weapon systems are frikin awesome.

    I had no plans to get any Forgeworld knights anytime soon, this guy may very well change that. Looking forward to seeing his full rules.
