Digital Editions: The Horus Heresy Mechanicum: Taghmata Army List

Hey Bunnies!!

Wow! We didn't see this coming! We asked for this during a seminar a year ago and the answer was somewhat disappointing. But here it is:

This is £21.99 through the Black Library website here: http://www.blacklibrary.com/horus-heresy/hh-cod-sup/HH-taghmata-army-list.html

Or through IBooks as an enhanced edition for £29.99. There is a preview there too.

For the first time ever, Forge World rules are available in Tablet and Enhanced Editions! The Mechanicum Taghmata Army List brings the war machines of the Legio Cybernetica, the Knight houses and the Titan Legions to the tabletop, with full rules and background.

READ IT BECAUSE
All players of Horus Heresy games can benefit from adding some Mechanicum (or Dark Mechanicum if that's your metal bag) to their army, and with this digital edition, it's easier than ever to carry the rules with you!

DESCRIPTION:

The Horus Heresy Mechanicum: Taghmata Army List brings together the Mechanicum units and rules from The Horus Heresy Books One to Five in a handy eBook for the first time ever. It includes background and profiles for all of the units available to the Mechanicum Taghmata, Legio Cybernetica and Ordo Reductor armies as well as support aircraft, seven classes of Knight, the Warhound, Reaver and immense Warlord Titans and introduces powerful new units such as the Ordinatus Macro Engines.

Additionally, this book includes updated Age of Darkness expansion rules for playing games of Warhammer 40,000 during the Horus Heresy, and all of the weapons profiles and special rules you’ll need for your Mechanicum army.

The Horus Heresy Mechanicum: Taghmata Army List is an expansion to Warhammer 40,000. You will need a copy of the Warhammer 40,000 rulebook in order to use this book.

This is really cool and will hopefully mean updates and erratas will be free. Let's hope this is just the first of all the red books.

So what are your thoughts on this? Will you be getting a copy?

Stay fluffy

Kaelo

  1. Wow, this feels weird. If they update and include errata, then I'm fully in.

  3. I'll be happy (and totally broke) when they hire some Android programmers.

    1. Welcome Doug! Can't you get the ePub version from Black Library?

  4. Well this likely just got me to commit to a full mechanicum allied force for my Fists. I will still likely get the book for my collection, this is an excellent gateway to the army for me.

  5. Just downloaded the sample. Very slick and well produced. Am a shattered legions collector but very tempted by this. Would love a digital version of 'Retribution'.

    1. Hi Joe.
A big black book as a eBook would be cool, not sure if they will though. The Red books are ideal for it, from a codex perspective.

  6. Ok, so I got the enhanced on the iPad. I don't have the paper so seemed worth while (particulary with codex updates happening now). Same as the GW Codexes (not really a suprise there). I probably wouldn't buy the black books in this format, but these army type books are fair game. I mean, worst case I have a hard copy taking space on a shelf that will be replaced...

    1. Hi Col. Does it have the army list creator at the back of the book?

    2. Just out of curiosity, does it have a gallery section or anything similar to GW codexes? I've only read the black books, but I did download the iBooks sample of the Taghmata list to check it out and my interest was piqued when it had the same instructions in the front on how to use inset 360-degree turnaround photos.

    3. No, it has links to rules summaries and hidden text on the pictures (where you have a picture if a knight then hidden text of the history). No 360-degree stuff or web links I can see. I do like this ebook, but it's a straight copy from the paper. not to my mind a truly interactive codex like codex imperial Knights.

    Anyway, thats great!
