Just a little progress report today - my Brass Scorpion is halfway done! I only need to do the trim on the claws/arms aswell as the main cannon, and he will be finished.
Here is a scale shot with my Fellblade - keep in mind the arms will add some size to it ^.^
Hope you like it so far :)
I'm btw still looking for a good ovale base - worst case I will have to cut my own.
Regards,
Lady Atia
Great work, lovely trims and of course the red and shadows. How have you painted the entangled corpses? Pallid flesh or red raw?
ReplyDeleteHey! The are pale white soul-ghosts, like grudges. Gives a good contrast - will try to snap some good pics from them once the whole model is finished :)
DeleteLooking good atia!
ReplyDeleteThanks Colonel :D
DeleteI guess you do stuff for the AoD forum this ETL?
So awesome! Great work!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it so far =)
DeleteHave you checked it against a Knight base? Secret Weapon has some decent ones in that size:

Hey - A Knight Base is sadly too small :<
DeleteFor a great selection of oval base, check out dragonforge.com. He has a great selection. Awesome bases.
ReplyDeleteHey! I would need a ~30cm ovale base for the scorpion :/
DeleteI can only find 20cm ones there sadly :<
Lady Atia, my update is up on TOC if you were interested in seeing how the blue cane out!
ReplyDeleteReally cool!
DeleteWhat colour did you used for the basecoat? Also, did you went with the FW calth blue and purple clear?
Black primer. Iron breaker for the metal base coat. VGC transparent blue, greatly thinned. Purple was a 1:1 mix of VGC red and blue transparent, again greatly thinned.
DeleteI want to get the forge world colors, but haven't been able to justify them instead of more toys when I order. Might be able to get some now with conversion rates the way they are.
I'd also like to go with a brighter metallic base coat in the future.
