Sons of Horus on Prospero

Hello all!

We Bunnies are very excited about the new Burning of Prospero box set and we have started to think about completing a campaign based on the story. The new black book will hopefully be landing in the next couple of months with a detailed campaign like we have seen on the other 6!

This is going to be a really fun campaign to get involved in. Now we know that the Thousand Sons, Space Wolves, Custodes and Sisters of Silence play large roles in the campaign but we are also expecting the Sons of Horus to have some sort of role as well. This is coming from information we have managed to find out at the various open days in the last year or so. We aren't really sure what role or how big a role they will have. With this in mind I will be getting some painted up to use in the campaign as needed.

Before I started with the Sons of Horus First Company I had started working on some 'regular' Sons of Horus At the time I couldn't find the right green to paint them. Now that Forgeworld have released the air brush range I now have a good scheme in mind. So currently I have 30 Assualt marines fully assembled.


I also have 30 resin tactical marines assembled, a fireraptor, storm eagle and Kharybdis done too that I think I will use for the them. I plan on having 2 20 man tactical squads, 2 10 man squads and the 2 15 man assault squads as the basis.

I will be making use of the orbital assault rite of war and getting everything in drop pods where possible. I will make some vets and seekers to go with above as well! Plus I will be using the 2 leviathans that I had planned for the first company and I have another 2 SoH contemptors to include as well. What I really need that I don't have is the drop pods, regular, dread and claw.



The big question is who will be leading the Sons of Horus, Little Horus is candidate but not sure if it would work about with timings of Istvaan. Who do you think will be leading the Sons of Horus and how big a role do you think they will have?

    Sons of Horus or even Luna Wolves have always tempted me I must admit. Looking forward to seeing what you put together there.

      I'm going to be doing both! Luna Wolves for the Great Cursade campaigns. Both will be focusing on infantry in large numbers. The Sons of Horus will be orbital assault and I think Luna Wolves will be mass infantry with a few tanks.

    Did you already make a model of Darien Vasco? If so why doesn't he lead them?

      Darien Vasco will be an member of the Emperor's Children! I also think the next book will name who leads them!

      This has gone through my mind! :) I'm not planning any HQ's until we see what Forgeworld do with them though, just in case! If they don't name anyone then I will name someone up!!

      Need to get back to my painting! Been having a bit of a break from marines! Getting some Sylvaneth done for AoS at the moment!

      Going to be using the airbrush to get the green. The 2 SoH paints from the Forgeworld range!

      Excellent, marines can be hard to keep painting, that's why I have ww2 and napoleonic stuff ready to go.

      Will be good seeing how you get on with the air brush. Haw you use one before?

      Yeah 10 months straight of painting marines has been a tad draining!

      Not really used an airbrush for full on painting, used mine more for base coating at the moment. Got a few old marines I'm going to use for practice first! Going to hopefully be doing both the SoH and ECs with the airbrush for the most part which will be giving me plenty of practice!
