Open Day News

Howdy Guys and Girls :)

Some more news from the Open Day:

- No other Sisters of Silence have been worked on yet. They wanted to see how popular the first set were.
- Resin upgrades for the plastic Custodes will get done, similiar to the Secutarii ones. Also more vehicles.
- The Custodes will get an army list equivalent to the Solar Auxilia.
- Talons of the Emperor armylist. You will be able to do a pure Sister list or pure Custodes list or mix.
- Custodes are older than Thunder Warriors. Info about their creation is heavily guarded by the Emperor. No packers.
- Jenetia Krole, Valdor and Ahriman will get rules in Inferno!
- Thousand Sons will have scalable psychic powers.
- Inferno is biggest book yet by 8 pages.
- Inferno should be ready for pre-release February the 4th!
- Next Black Book will feature Blood Angels and Dark Angels.

- Daemon Magnus seems to have an alternate head and a sword option!

- "Squats are NEVER being done. Ever. You will see fishman in space before Squats. And there is no love for fishmans in space :("

Jenetia Krole, kind of a big deal :)

Regards,
Kylo Rylanus and Lady Atia

    1. Nope. Last I heard was "after Inferno - Inferno is priority #1".

    2. Yes, it's not finished and targeted for mid 2017. It MAY be ready for Warhammerfest, but I was told to heavily stress the MAY in any quotes by Alan.

    1. Arf... Nothing about a Space Wolves badass character? Or if Geigor will have rules in Inferno?

    2. Just added a pic of her. She is a very big deal. Hand of the Emperor! She is to the sisters of Silence what Valdor is to the Custodes. :) she looks angry a lot.

    3. speaking of hands of the emperor, I wonder if we will ever get Malcador the Sigilite

    4. Probably at the Siege, or maybe if there is another "Shadow Wars" book.

  3. Anything on Destroyers or are they still in "No one plays them so how do we change them?" hell?

    1. 10 destroyers with 2 rad missiles, melta bombs and jump packs don't let me down.

Though I play World Eaters with them so they get the nice chainaxe boost

    2. I play a similar load out. Problem is that that is an expensive unit, when you loose them you really feel it

  4. Just a bit of info I got talking to sir alan...

There's been a lot of discussion about angron needing a better save/extra wound etc..

It was deliberate to make him less resilient in book 1, as by the end of the crusade he was essentially dying cos of the butchers nails, and was not as powerful as he was earlier in the crusade.

They do intend to make at least one more version of him before he becomes a daemon prince. This version will probably be more powerful as he is nearing his ascent to daemonhood and gaining power again.

He'll also have different weapons of course.

    Cheers.

    1. Hi Dante! Thanks for that. Didn't see you today.

    2. No worries Drake.

Got in quite late and left quite early but really enjoyed the event.

Hopefully catch up with you guys at the weekender.

    1. Expect news at the New Years event. Specailist games weren't in attendance today.

    2. Overheard a conversation with one of the FW guys. The largest of the epic scale titans is about 2/3 of a gw knight. The epic scale of a gw knight is about the size of a terminator. They've just scaled down the knight computer files and tweaked a few bits, like larger rivets, to ensure they aren't lost on the smaller models. All in all it sounds like its progressing well.

  8. Big snippet you missed is the Primach after Magnus is likely to be a semi primach. It's likely to be Valador, however it could be Sanginius. Dorn will appear when he plays a part in the story, as he has not appeared, he will wait. Unfortunatley Alpharius should have a model and has missed his spot.

Sorry if you said it in an eariler post...

    1. Hope is Sanguinius.

Did they say it'd be Simon sculpting it if it's Valdor?

      Delete
    2. Yep, he does all the primachs now.

      Delete
    3. Okey dokey. Do you know if Isreal still works for Forgeworld?

Not seen him in ages and not seen any new characters since Rubio.

      Delete
    4. I actually chatted with Kaelo about that, but wanted to talk to Drake first :P

So yeah, it was on my mind hehe

      Delete
    5. No worries ^.^

Just wanted to see if Drakes got some more details. But yeah, it makes sense for Valdor to be the "Primarch" model for Custodes ^.^

      Delete
    6. Lol. As the Col. says. He will be a Primarch level character series sculpt. He won't be Primarch level stats but will be a beast.

      Delete
    7. Alan said he is literally the 20th most powerful individual in the heresy. Only the emperor and the primachs are "harder". This is so playground lol.

      Delete
    8. I guess Alan forgot about Scoria when he made that comment. Lol.

      Delete
    9. Lol! Scoria is horrific to play! I dread facing him more than most primarch's!

    10. Israel does still work for them. He is there today too.

      Delete
    11. Good to know he's still at forgeworld.

Hopefully he's been working on some character models we haven't seen yet.

      Delete
    12. I though he was doing all the other main players at the moment. Would be good to get him back on Primarchs. I'm sure Simon said he was working on Magnus, does that mean Israel will have Valador?

      Delete
    13. Well I thought Israel was doing the non-Primarch characters too but Rubio seems to be the last one released or even previewed (unless he did Casan Sabius?)

Simon is defo doing Magnus. He told be he'd been working on him for 3 weeks back in July.

Maybe they've got lots up their sleaves and all will be revealed at the weekender?

I'm hoping Israel does Valdor and Simon starts working on Sanguinius or the Lion.

      Delete
    14. Think it is looking like Lion will be the next Primarch.

  9. We're there any mention and/or artwork of the prospero spireguard anywhere?

  10. Last thing, the rules for custodes we have been changed in inferno. These represent an old draft. Also the syneges in the list will make them a very savage list. All war gear is the highest level of dark age of technology tech. It's been retained by the emperor for his household troops only.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ah looks like Magnus'll get stuck with some useless generic TS powers instead of getting invisivility! Praise the Emperor for that.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The thousand sons have 5 separate psychic disciplines, some very similar to the generic ones outlined in the 40K rule book. I wouldn't rule out invisibility just yet ;).

      Delete
    2. No invisibility in 30k pls. Bad enough in 40k creating horrible combos. Dont want that in 30k

      Delete
    3. Do they have their own psychic disciplines not from the main 40k rule book then? Five totally new ones?

      Delete
  12. Any news on when we will be getting all this extra custode stuff and when/if Valdor will drop?

    1. You could be seeing the Caladius by end of the month. The Porphyrion should be out end of the month too. The Palis not sure. Valdor not sure.

  14. Well, I was trying to decide which new Legion to start with the Prospero box, but if the next book is Dark and Blood Angels, I think I start up some Blood Angels and wait on Sanguinius.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I just need to know if it's safe for me to start building my 1k sons using the rules from the red book, or if should wait until February for inferno.

    2. Long time lurker, many thanks for everything you guys do and for running a great site. A few questions regarding missing models for existing legion units. Are there any plans to produce the 5 missing legion units (i.e. Iron Havocs, Locuturus, Lernean, etc), the two missing contemptors (UM and SW), and finally missing special characters (i.e. Ventanus, Golg, Hol Beloth, etc)? Or will those models never get produced? Many thanks once again.

  16. Hi guys, lurked long enough. Can you find out how much the EC spears are?

    1. They said no Fishman in Space. Aren't the Tau called Fishheads? So there are Fishman in Space and nobody likes them as an opponent. So its clear. Next year its Squattime.

    2. Think that is in reference to Piscean warriors. One if ye olde rogue trader races that got _a_ model.

  18. So what's this about The Thousand Sons having 5 distinct new psychic disciplines??? Does anyone else know more about their legion rules or how their HQ choices will be altered?

    ReplyDelete
  19. "Fishmen in space" will be a reference to the old Piscean warrior, the Saharduin. Personally, I've got nothing against 'em. I think it would be fun if Forgeworld did an "alien mercenaries" Imperial Armour, with associated models for obscure races, a bit like the way they did with the Fimir for Warhammer. Would be nice to see some Tarellians, Stryxis, Enoulians etc etc

    1. I think a minidex for Hrud, Tarellians and Demiurg would be great. GW are really surprised at how well the Genestealer Cults did (We aren't shocked at all!!).

    2. I'm still waiting for dang Kroot codex to come out. Got every kindred covered, but a fifth edition half-fanmade codex just doesn't jive with all the changes.
Rak'Gol too, they'd be a great kill team challenge.
I fear the rumour of its announcement was just that.

  20. I've been meaning to ask for awhile, but I've kept forgetting. Have you heard any news on when the FW Moritat is being released?
