Weekly Progress Report

Howdy Guys and Girls :)

Another week is over! This one was quite slow for us due to real life issues, let's take a look:

Hector has assembled his Custodes and will hopefully get them primed and based this coming week (weather permitting).

No progress from King Fluff this week as he was placed under the care of the Medicae following an attempt to sacrifice his finger to Khorne. (For your own sake, no picture here!)

Aveinus has had little 30k hobby time this week but he did spend a day off on Monday completing the cataphractii terminators which you can see more in detail in a post earlier on in the week! Aos is currently the main hobby focus with a tournament coming up but his next post will be stealing Darius' idea for a look at What I've achieved over the course of this year and what I'm planning for 2017!

No 30k progress from Kaelo and Darien this week - I heard they engaged in battles deep within a part of the warp called "Mortal Realms", and will be back soon.

Drake has been incredibly busy with work and has spent all waking hours bar 7 on his work this week. He desperately wants to finish Russ now.

I used this week to paint the Architect of the Heresy himself - Erebus, first Chaplain of the Word Bearers, also known as "The Archpig":

I also want to say - I really need to get my hands on some of the upcoming Thousand Sons stuff - Tzaangors will work great as allied Leevy units for the Siege of Terra, and these Scarab Occult Terminators will look ace in red and gold ....

Spectre and Castiel were also busy this week.

That's all from us for now - hope you like what we achieved, and feel free to share your weekly progress with us in the comments below :)

Regards,
Lady Atia

  1. Real life sucks when it gets in the way of Hobbytime! I hate Erebus, Archpig indeed.... great paint job though ;)

  2. Hoping the Tzaangors hand are separate parts so that these can be dual-purposed for AoS

    1. They should be multipose kits (the box art is actually a bit misleading). They also have optional weapons (for your AoS use) and heads for a Twistbray :)

  3. Love that the new Thousand Sons models (terminators, rubics, and sorcerers) are wearing modified MKIV Maximus Armour and Tartaros Armour. I can see 30k TS players using them as temporary Veteran Tacs, and maybe the Elite Terminator unit that TS get until FW release resin units. VERY NICE GW!!

    1. Yep. Also - we need to ask Alan about the Thousand Sons hats in 30k!

    2. True, maybe as captains or character? Not sure when the TS changed to blue and gold and all the egypsian motifs, before the seige of terra, or after when they were cursed, official enslaved by Tzeetch/Ahriman. Maybe FW will make TS that have become full fledged followers of the big TZ after they get their Great Crusage look finished first? Can only imagine the detail on those BADASSES!!!

    3. I think we already have the answer. In Talon of Horus it is briefly mention that the Thousand Sons Head Crests are called Kaltaran Crests and were a funerary right of ancient Prosperine kings. It seems likely from this that they were added to the Rubricae to "mourn" their death. Look also at the only FW, Pre heresy model currently with the head crest, the Contemptor dreadnought, another "dead" legionary. It seems to me like Headcrests were a symbol of mourning adopted by the Legion after it's death at Prospero and/or Maybe Later after the Rubric.

  4. Real life gets in the way of all the fun stuff.

  5. Please give King Fluff's fingers my sympathy. - In April, converting a FW MK.3 marine cost me one artery and the nerves in middle finger on my left hand! - 5 stiches and the nerves are never coming back. If its any help for all that really fiddly cutting of resin, use a chainmail glove on your left hand. Not a lesson I want to learn again or recommend to others.
