Hello all
Just a quick one tonight.
I have been in discussions with a fantastic MDF lasercut scenery designer and I have offered him the community here to do some market research.
What I really want to know from all of you is what scenery, objects, gaming aids etc would you like to see for any of Games Workshops systems? There are so many gaps in the market and so many designers do different variations of the same thing.
I will collate all information and I will send to the designer, who knows - we may just see some get done.
Email me your ideas at Kaelorylanus@gmail.com or hit me or Battle Bunnies up on Facebook.
Please please please respond, it's for the good of the hobby!!!
Stay fluffy
Kaelo!
Ordinary domestic Imperial buildings would be my #1 pick, hab blocks, a commissary and other 'ordinary' stuff, going back to the descriptions in the various Ghosts novels and similar?
ReplyDeleteI second this! We don't always need munitions factorys and things like that! Why not some little low-rent imperial apartments?
DeleteThird from me. Maybe some whole and some a little ruined, i.e. some bullet holes, blown out windows, an occasional shell hole. But still recognisable buildings.
DeleteI'll cast my vote for these as well, I'm all for the Bombed out hell scape look but not every city in the Imperium should look like Stallingrad 1945..
DeleteI would like to see some line of sight blocking terrain that isn't giant rocks or buildings full of holes. Maybe things like communication towers, reactors, and other generic things that a 40k world might have in an imperial sprawl. Also, even though I'm a fairly devout imperial player, I would love to see more Xeno terrain from races like the eldar/dark eldar.
ReplyDeleteInsides of factories. Like gantries and crane like things. Also anything that gets multiple levels. Also things that actually look like the inside of a hive city.
ReplyDeleteI second this. I'm terrible at creating terrain and interiors of buildings. MDF interiors to go with the GW kits would be fantastic, interior walls, stair cases, tables/chairs. Stuff like that.
DeleteAlong with the non ruined buildings, I would also like to see a cheap reliable source of templates both large and small for weapons like Graviton weapons, Phosphex, etc that leave lasting effects on the battlefield. MDF would be great here because it holds paint well for those who would customize them.
ReplyDeleteI would also love to see walls, scatter terrain and other generic '30/40k' style buildings, and things that would make great take and hold objectives form games.
See:
Cranes
Sensor arrays
Landing pads
Orbital defense emplacements
Gothic style Containers
Definitely more normal stuff. Hab blocks that look like ordinary citizens live in them but don't look super plain and ridiculous when put down next to the GW kits. They obviously shouldn't be as ornate as an administratum but those buildings would share some design features (gothic arches etc).
ReplyDeleteAn idea I've also had that I can't find anywhere is minimuly detailed tiles that fit together like the space hulk tiles to form corridors and chambers where games of zone mortalis can be played. It's not as nice as having walls or as attractive as the forgeworld boards but it would be easy to store and could be a fantastic entry level for some mortalis!
Different architectural styles of buildings, Macrage looks different from Armegeddon
ReplyDeleteNo one has said an anephelion base?
ReplyDeleteI heartedly support the hab block idea that would fit alongside other Imperial style buildings. Something modular would be great so you could build it up to at least hide a Knight behind.
