Warhammer 40K: Tyranid Codex and Datacards

Hi all
We have received the New Codex as a Sample from Games Workshop.

If you have been living under a rock, the Tyranids are a race of hungry mother hubbards. They were drawn towards our Galaxy around M30 by a massive Beacon (see Pharos for as to how/why).
So they are in effect a race of space Locusts, which travel from Galaxy to Galaxy eating all biomass. The Imperium obviously see them as a massive threat.

Each Hive fleet looks slightly different (Probably from what they have eaten etc), and this book details 7 of the main Hive Fleets and how they wracked the Imperium. The book also gives you all the tools you need to design your own, including some traits. It also gives rules for all the main Hive Fleets too.

The Crusade rules are brilliant. Each world you generate has different traits and biomass points.

You can spend biomass points on boons for your army/units.

The rules for the Tyranids have been covered well in the most recent Warhammer Community articles, especially with the Hormagaunt rules and their swarm attacks, as well as that Carnifex being a little more in your face with better move, WS, save and wound characteristics.

Still my favourite is Leviathan. I think they look brilliant. The other great thing about Tyranids is that there is no moral grey ground. They are the baddies. They are hungry. They just want to eat a planet and move on. Quite refreshing really! We are working through our (Arlo’s) Tyranid swarm, and he is loving them so far :)
Another great book. Get it and why not give Tyranids a go!

Battle Bunnies.
