Necromunda: Orlock Ash Waste Gang

Orlock Gang

My first experience was with the Necromunda Orlock gang was way back in the 90's, the new models definitely have more details whilst maintaining that "biker" aesthetic of the original gang, now they have the Quad Bikes it works even better !

The Outrider Quad bikes are lovely models, if not a little fiddly to build, with some delicate parts, but take your time, you may not be able to see the full detail unless you turn the model over, but love how it was designed as a light engine and it has a ton of interesting, and recognisable details.

I tried my best to give them a bit of a more dynamic feel, I raised the bases up slightly with some cork to give the impression of them bounding over the ash waste dunes.

I also left the rider and gunners off whilst painting, it makes things a lot easier, just ensure the riders arms line up to the handle bars.
For ease of transport the Gunners are not glued on the models, there is a pin which has enough friction to keep them from falling off.

The Orlock gangers were an interesting little group, after a lot of thinking I decided to go with the original colours, leathers and blue shirts, I built them with a variety of weapons which come with the box, trying to give them a range of different weapons.
On a few models I tried to replicate some of the older poses of the metal models, all in all, lovely gang to build and paint, looking forward to adding Vespa ‘Minx’ Merdena with that fantastic hairdo and rapid fire missile launcher!
