Horus Heresy: New plastic Contemptor review (how posable is it?)

It’s a Fun new kit, with many, many, many parts !

First thing you will notice is that the entire body and legs all fit on one A5 sized Sprue, this thing is packed!

You then get another Sprue with the arms and weapon options, Gravis Autocannon, Lascannon, Melta, Bolt Cannon and Fist.
The fist comes with 5 built in weapons, Plasma Blaster, Heavy Flamer, Melta, Graviton or Combi Bolter, it is entirely possible to magnetise these weapon if you so choose, but for the purposes of this build I did not and chose the Graviton.

One little drawback is that you only get 2 arm connectors, so you are a little limited in swapping weapons on the fly, the weapons themselves can be magnetised to the arm connector if you have the patience to do so.
I realised too late, but there are recesses inside the weapons which will allow for a small magnet to be dropped in, I believe the recess in each weapon side is 3 or 4mm x 1mm, the ring which goes into the weapon housing also has a 4mm hole so with some clever magnetising powers this can be done.  I already glued the weapons at this point and did not think about it, but for future builds I will definitely magnetise the weapons (and will also create another guide for this).

You get 2 options of toes for each foot, 1 for walking, one for grounded leg, similar to the FW Resin ones where you got multiple feet.

It is an easy to build kit, you cannot really mess up, I would suggest keeping the leg part separated, just in case you accidentally mix them up, instructions are clear and accurate with clear images which clearly show the parts and directions, I have found GW are getting better with these.

I would also suggest building all the "parts" before constructing the whole model, i.e., feet, lower leg, knees, upper leg, then body sections, for those of you familiar with the Contemptor in Resin you will find that most of the parts are almost identical and you will immediately know what part goes where.

The range of movement this kit has is amazing, I would spend some time considering the pose you are looking for, for those of you familiar with my builds you know I like dynamic poses on my big toys !
I decided to go with a stomping pose, the dread brutally assaulting a knocked down marine (I felt bad for the marine so decided to give him a plasma pistol so he has a (slim) fighting chance to get out of this mess.. :P )

Next one I am building will be full tilt sprint assault mode. Thanks to Games Workshop for the sample.
