Warlord Titan rules from Apocalypse.

With the new Warlord Titan striding from the Horizon I thought it may be a good time to talk rules.

We have encountered this beast before from the pages of Apocalypse. I'm not sure if there have been newer rules so please feel free to comment to discuss below.

The one in photo appears to be sporting a Volcano Cannon or 2 but can't be sure.

The shoulder weapons could be the Vulcan Mega Bolters as pictured above (and would make sense).

Now I'm sure we will see a variety of weapon options for the Carapace and arm mounts. What would you choose?

The rules may be slightly dated but they still stand strong.

Not sure how many hull points it may have either and whether it was 3 hull points per Structure point or four. If 3 it gives it a monstrous 27 HP.

Can't wait to see it on a board now.

  2. The standard rule set for old school SP conversion is 1 x SP = 3 x HP.
I would imagine this may get toned down with some serious up-grade to the void shield rule-set.
But I guess it's open to whatever FW want to do now.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh in May :D

    1. As a man with Titans Arkangel; would you consider purchasing one of these for your Legio?

    2. I've already started my 'Warlord-Fund' lol
Who wouldn't have one if they could afford one? It's a massive luxury to be able to afford one but I'll be selling some Ltd Edt 40K pieces I have to help pay for it ;D
Mainly Gaunts Ghost Lt Edt and OOP BL minis but I only kept them as potential display case pieces that I never got round to building and painting so they'll go up for sale :D

    4. What about you Greg? You going to try to get some funds together for one?

    5. I have a list. Depending on what I get done, there was room in it for a warhound for next years adepticon. It all depends on the scale and scope of the super knight :)

  3. I think we will see some weapons using the 15" blast template... at least I hope :)

  4. Call me a traditionalist, but I would go for the 2 Twin a Turbo Laser Destructors on shoulder mounts with a Plasma Destructor and Quake Cannon on arm mounts.
    Would magnetise of course.

  5. Hope there's a quake cannon option. Though maybe that will come later - like the Reaver Volcano Cannon and Chainfist did.

Tbh... I'm more excited about this model than any other ever - even the Primarchs. Hoping to get one at the grand opening in may if it's available. Not only is this the most physically impressive model ever imo - it's gorgeous looking too. Love the styling. Can't wait to see one in person.

Only problem is... Can't decide between Legio's Crucius and Metallica.

    1. You got a Knight House? If so which? House Raven assist Metalica and the White Skitarii scheme is lush.

    2. Have a mix of Krast and Taranis knights. Crucius are prob my fave legio but not really a fan of the orange Ryza Skitarii. Do like the Metallica and Mars colour schemes though.

Also have Blood angels so I'm thinking Legio Metalica would be just too much red.

Another option would be Legio Tempestus. Mars based and really like the colour scheme from the FW books. Not many folks seem to have Legio Tempestus too.

    3. Legio Tempestus is my choice for my Warhounds and Reaver, it was just unique and enough of a challenge to make it fun to do, and thus far I haven't seen anyone else (in person) who's done it. It's always been Warp Runners and Fire Wasps (or some abhorrent concoction of attempts at OSL on ALL THE THINGS!)

I am definitely looking forward to doing up a warlord in Tempestus colors though i will hate myself after painting that many black and white checkers again, I'm sure.

  6. I don't think I will ever own any Imperial/Mechanicus titan heavier than a knight, as the fluff for my Forgeworld doesn't necessarily support that idea.

However, I would love to see the rules for these buggers! I can imagine them having a pretty significant minimum range on their weapons which would mean that they would need to have some sort of ground force (Skitarii?) to keep enemies from assaulting the titan.

  8. The carapace weapons have been upgraded from the Warhound's arm weapons (Double Turbo Laser) to the Reaver's arm weapons (Laser Blaster)
