Primarch Perturabo. Posing.

Hi all.
I have got the Lord of Iron out and have had a good little play with the sculpt to see how best to pose him.

His gaming base has a part of a destroyed Cerastus which he stands on. It has two little slots which sets him in the correct place.

Only issue is; that's a lot of base to drag around with you every battle.

Many people like to have a regular sandy base with the option of slotting onto display detailed base which comes with the big box.

So good news is you can easily make a rocky slot base which you can swap between. He is leaning slightly forward, but as long as about an additional 5mm at the leading leg up on something, it really works.

Size comparison against Mortarion:

He is a good size and a great model. Really excited now.

Added. Mat Kane's Curze pose after comment below.

  1. I feel it's a problem for many of the HH characters that their "battle-base" is way too big because of the scenary. Look a Peturabo, Gulliman, and Curze. Luckily some of them are possible to place on a normal base with a few modifications, as mentioned here for Peturabo (and Gulliman would be even easier), but Curze would be a hell to try and place on such a base.

    1. Hi Zyntax. I have added a Curze pose done by Mat Kane from FW. Will be doing mine with this stance too.

    2. Woaw! I stand corrected! That is a lot better than the original and i'd imagine that the detached battle-base part would be easier to handle on the battlefield. :)

  3. Nice posing, he`s growing on me every time I see him :)
The Night Haunter pose is excellent, do you have any more pictures on that? I got the mini too and I´m also not sure on the original pose. So an advice on how Matt posed his would be very much appreciated.

  4. he has been the first primarch figure that i have wanted .. and likely the first FW item i will ever purchase ... i wish there was an option honestly to buy him without the lower half of the base ... but i am sure i can find a use for it ... will likely make a base that matches the rest of the iron warriors i am working on ... though a lot of them are going to look more 40k because of the armor bits i have ...

    1. A dead knight would make a great objective. Perts base is probably the most useful of the primarchs for re-purposing, unless you line dead, mid fall marines that is.

    2. I have a feeling primarch's without the bases would sell quite nicely, as I'm sure some of them (like sigsmund), have a huge chunk of their cost in the base itself!

    3. hmmm i had not thought about using it as an objective... or even work it into a terrain part.

    4. Yeah it is a good idea. It is a huge detailed piece. The 3d printing for it works so well with the way it slots together.
