Horus Heresy: Plastic Leviathan Dreadnought review

Hi all

We have been sent the new Melee Leviathan Dreadnought for review by Games Workshop.

This is the 5th Leviathan I have ever assembled (first plastic), and I have never completed one. So with the new Vlka Fenryka project that I am working on I thought there is no better time.

As it is a melee Dreadnought for the Rout I thought a dynamic running pose may be the best way forward.
You get two planted feet and one stepping foot. The shins themselves are 5 pieces and slot together great.

The best thing about posing the legs is that they slot in and hold position relatively well.

The waist also allows a lot of flexibility like the old resin kits, so they can be given a generous coat of plastic glue and moved until you are happy.

The arms and weapons assemble well too. Decided not to try to magnetise it as I can imagine getting a few of them and having them all armed differently.

Let’s have a look at the instructions!

The Leviathan Dreadnought assembly instructions as you can see are very good. I like it when GW refuses to lose detail on a model they move from Resin to plastic and so they break a single resin piece into multiple plastic pieces instead of changing the design.

Can’t wait for the next one now! Tune in this week to see our progress with the paint job.
