Weekly Progress Report 18/01

Apologies for the lateness, I had Papa Nurgle round my house yesterday and he distracted me!! But here we go with our progress from last week :)

This week King Fluff has been busy getting to grips with using transfers for the first time using micro set and micro sol. The results have been pretty good and have encouraged him to start applying the decals to his House Krask Imperial Knights.

Drake Seta has finished his Pre-Errant Nathaniel Garro model. He is pleased with it and will show it in the coming weeks. He is looking forward to getting back to Bone Garland and some Narrative work.

Kaelo has had an unsettling week where he has had some complications after his recent surgery. It has delayed his recovery and of course his hobby. He is now undergoing treatment and has picked up a paintbrush for the first time this year. Here is a WIP Ultramarine.

It's been a slow week for Aveinus with work commitments but he has managed to complete one of his character models  for the Iron hands legion and it will be featured in a blog post over the next week!

Atia was busy building her Word Bearer infantry - Breachers, Ashen Circle and other stuff. She also did a repose on Lorgar and started to paint her Samus - be prepared little Ultramarines, the Ruinstorm is near...

Darien has had a busy week with work and other commitments and hasn't made much progress. He has started assembling a Dreadclaw drop pod and is looking forward to the next 2 weeks as he has set aside several full hobby days!

This week Tylar has been catching up with some overdue read of HH novels.
Another 10 legionaries are prepped to join the mighty VIIth and due to the lack of a right handed lightning claw in the BaC box set he converted a left one to fit the bill.

This week I (Darko) have begun to start making some progress on my first Blood Angel unit, assembling 10 tactical marines. I have also made a revisit to all of my old projects including my World Eaters and Mechanicum forces. I am going to be updating these models over the next few months. Here's a glimpse into my slow work this week. Posts will follow for when each unit/group of units have been completed.

So there we are, another good round up of this weeks adventures. What do you like about this week? What have you been working on? Let us know in the comments below :)

    2. Lorgar repose is stunning. He looks bulkier too! You don't mind if i pinch your idea? :-) How many cuts did you perform?

    3. Thanks 8culexus8 :)

Do it! I had to repose both legs, his right toes and his left shoulder, so you need a bit of greenstuff and steady hands when you remove the knee-flame, and you need to resculpt one of his joints - tbh it wasn't that easy as it sounds (so more as Lorgar is a stunning and pricey model, so I was a bit nervous ^^), but it's doable :)

  2. Good work all round! Nice to see a big round up!

Kaelo, glad to see you managed to get paint on the ultramarine. What's your recipe? I have a dread being crushed buy a knight that screams ultramarine to me!

    1. Hey Col.

      My blue is dead simple:
      Armour:
      Spray Black
      Spray Macragge Blue from can
      Airbrush with FW Clear
      Wash with Nuln Oil
Layer up with a 50:50 mix of Macragge Blue and Vallejo Game Air Ultramarine. Job done. It comes out like a nice, dark and vibrant cobalt blue. Pretty happy with the results.

    2. Oooohhhhh, does the FW Clear provide a smoother finish so the wash pools more and covers less?

    Keep it up.
Also how did the decals get done? I know you explained it but could you mabey do full post of it? I have lots of trouble with them especially with the curved shoulder pads of marines.
