I originally converted this Arlatax from a Domitar in the Previous edition of Heresy when they were absolute monsters.
Little lacklustre now, not sure what I’m going to do with it.
But anyway, this is a mish-mash of all sorts.
The arc scourge is two giant taser goads taken from the Sydonian Dragoons kit, with some barbed wire wrapped around for good measure.
The power claw is taken from the Ursurax and lastly the plasma blaster is from the Dark Angels Interemptors.
I’m a massive fan of heavily battle worn schemes and considering how brutal the horus heresy was for all involved, this is a perfect excuse to go mad.
All the weathering is done with enamel washes and stippling from a simple kitchen sponge. Except from the metallic bits where theres some dry brushing in there too.
The Mechanicum of Xana II are no strangers to endlessly tinkering with their subject/equipment.
To try and portray this, I’ve added a few wires to the left shoulder pad, along with cables going from the reactor to the weapons to provide additional power for the brutal weapons this Automata is supposed to have.
Its amazing what materials some old PC cables can provide.
Finally to finish the model off, a friendly servo skull accompanies The Arlatax, ready to help with repairs with its comparatively large grabbing claw.
Now, I should probably fly off and get some more.
