Hi all,
Today, I'm going to talk about my Imperial Fists terminators - namely my "shooting configuration" terminators.
s
The Imperial Fists are an interesting legion in gaming terms. We don't have a legion specific terminator unit unlike most legions, instead we have more options for our standard terminator units. We are the only legion with access to a proper storm shield (the Salamanders one only boosts a models existing invulnerable save after all), we have access to assault cannons (the Blood Angels also can use these too) and teleport transponders that allow us to deep strike.
My shooting configuration terminators make good use of assault cannons and combi-bolters to threaten targets as they either march up the battlefield or deep strike behind enemy lines. In cataphractii terminator armour, they can take a lot of punishment while they can deal with infantry and most vehicles at range and in close combat and certainly deal it back.
When Polux takes to the field, I normally give him a retinue of terminators in this configuration which you might view as an odd choice. I could stick him in a squad of terminators with storm shields and make use of the stone gauntlet rite of war to boost his toughness but I prefer to be more flexible than that. Storm shields make you more resilient but you need to get into close combat before you start to shine - Polux is odd as he is the exception to this rule, he also has ranged capability so he can threaten outside of close combat so he fits perfectly into this kind of squad.
I love this squad, I really do; they have great range and melee capability and as a result of that they draw a lot of attention and die horribly - particularly when Polux is with them. However, that is an awful lot of attention being drawn away from the rest of my army which is no bad thing.
Until next time,
Hector Cephas

Pre-Heresy Iron Hands: Cataphractii Terminators
Hello everyone,
a bit of a late post tonight after work just to show you my 99% complete terminators...
They are almost finished other than using the purity seal, which I am hoping to do at some point today!
I was also struggling to find a transfer that was of a similar size to the clan sorrgol knee pad transfer from the new Iron Hands transfer sheet. But I did manage to find this cool looking skull on the old Iron Hands transfer sheet so I have decided to use it on their right knee!
The skull transfer is a bit shiney in places, but the purity seal should clear this up and give it a matte finish.
These Terminators really have been a frustrating project that I have been a little bored with so I am glad to get them pretty much completed! I have been working on a big AoS project recently so it has stifled my progress in the 30K universe but look out for something new for the Iron Hands soon when we reveal what we've been working on in December.
I also do realise the lightning claw terminator guy didn't really get a nice photo but its late and I need sleep so you'll have to forgive me!
I hope all of your projects are going well and thanks for reading,

Pre-Heresy Iron Hands: Cataphractii Terminators WIP
Hello everyone,
I'm back again with another update on how my terminators are currently progressing!
As always it is a little slow with work and other hobby commitments being worked on, but I am now not far away from finishing them!
There are just a few areas to add bits of Runefang steel and then it is just basing, knee pad transfers and purity seal to go now!
I decided on Rhinox Hide with a Nuln oil wash for the pteruges and I am happy with how they look with the rest of the model. I wanted to keep them dull as I think just plain brown leather suits the Iron Hands taste.
So hopefully by my next post you will be seeing the finished version of these models. I do also have another five of them coming from Kaelo but I am thinking I will add some combi-weapons to those guys for some variety and fire power.
Thanks for reading,

Pre-Heresy Iron Hands: Cataphractii Terminators WIP
Hello everyone,
Just a quick update today, work hasn't been kind this week on my hobby time so I have little progress to speak off. However, I did decide to just concentrate on one model in order to figure out how the scheme will look on the Cataphractii Terminators.
This model has unfortunately been a bit of a test model so I think the other four will have a nicer finish. I have struggled to find the right colour for the leather? hanging from the shoulders and waist (I'm not sure what the correct word for these would be lol) So I did try going with white initially, however, I found it was almost too bright on the model and I didn't think it worked very well. I have used white throughout my Iron Hands force but it is just used for the cog iconography and the transfers. So having the leather in white made the model really stick out amongst the army and made it look out of place, as the white on my other models is quite subtle. I will be having some white on these models but it will come from having the white Iron Hands transfers on the knees.
Eventually I decided to go with a darker red for the leather, but I am still undecided on how I will highlight the red as I do want it to remain quite dark. I am probably going to get each model to this stage before I go any further and it is still a work in progress so there are still a few mistakes and highlights that need to be corrected and applied.
Hopefully over the weekend and next week I will be able to make some more progress and show you a more comprehensive post with more photos!

Pre-Heresy Iron Hands: Cataphractii Terminators
Hello Everyone,
Just a quick post from me today to show you what I am currently working on!
The cataphractii squad below is from the battle of calth box set so I decided to build them just using mostly the options included on the standard sprues rather than buying some cataphractii special weapons. The plasma blaster is from a tataros weapon set that I will probably use on some Gorgon terminators in the future.
So I did listen to your feedback, on the community question posts a while back and I have decided to arm the squad based on what the majority of people recommended. Power fists, a lightning claw and a chainfist fist were included as a kind of good for most situations unit with some punch.
Now I am going to probably build another unit of these in the future to add combi-weapons but that can wait until the monies available. Another five Gorgons will also make an appearance and i'll again be arming them based on suggestions from the community question posts.
The one unique thing about this squad is that I am using the Iron Hands Cataphractii shoulder pads. As you can see below they are pretty cool and already look great on the models. Some of them didn't fit too smoothly but after playing around for a while they look great. I really like the cog motifs and this should really tie the unit into the rest of my army.

Hopefully by the time I post next I should have the leadbelcher applied.
So happy hobbying everybody and thanks again,
Aveinus Kaane
