Angron: Slave of Nuceria First Impressions

Hey everyone!

Two weeks ago, it was the Black Library celebration weekend which was held in Games Workshop stores across the globe. Out of all the new books that where on offer that weekend, the one that natutally piqued my interest was the release of the limited edition Primarchs series book "Angron: Slave of Nuceria". I've been looking forward to this one for a while as a World Eaters praetor! :)

I haven't had a chance to read it fully as I ended up having to order the book from Black Library directly which meant I had to wait a week for it. I think it was certainly worth the wait as you can see, it is a very pretty tome and will live along side my Horus Heresy black books. The slip case is beautiful, the guys at work despite thinking it might be some occult thing (*twitch* this is no book of sorcery!!!) still appreciated and admired the presentation of the book.

The warhound on the front along with the world eaters symbols in the corners highlights in my mind that this is set around the time where the warhounds became the world eaters and this tome will contain some juicy information about this legion. There is a conversation between Kharn and Argal Tal in Betrayer which I think will get a lot more context about as it should be that time in the legion's history in this book.

When you open the magnetically sealed case, you are presented with the book's full cover art with both Angron and Kharn in the midst of battle (their glorious, skull-taking, blood-letting habitat) with a similarly presented hardback book. Again, beautifully presented - the chainlink pattern down the spine like on the slipcase is a very nice touch.

I can't wait to finish reading this book! Has anyone else bought this limited edition book or any of the previous Primarch series limited edition books?

Until next time, BLOOD FOR THE PRIMARCH! SKULLS FOR THE 12TH LEGION!

Primarchs: Roboute Guilliman - coming 29th of April

Howdy Guys and Girls!

Just want to remember, the first Primarchs book is going to release as limited edition at the 29th of April.

Black Library also send a little interview with David Annendale in their sneak peek:

So, what do you think so far? Hyped for a Primarch focused story? Russ (alongside the Lion) is next - who do you want to see after? What favourite Primarch stories already known but not released via Black Library do you want to read about? Write us in the comments below!

Black Library: Horus Heresy Primarchs, and The Silent War

Howdy Guys and Girls :)

Today we have a little preview for the 2nd Primarchs books, aswell as The Silent War. We already talked about "Roboute Guilliman: Lord of Ultramar" in the past. Pretty cool to see the Primarchs getting some stories, especially if they are set around the Great Crusade. That said, afaik not all stories are set during that era - some are during the Crusade, others during the Heresy and some even during the Scouring.

Leman Russ - the Great Wolf

The second part of the series is about Leman Russ - little SPOILERS ahead!!

"Many are the sagas of Leman Russ, Lord of Winter and War, most fearsome of the Emperor s primarch sons. At the height of the Great Crusade, his Space Wolves fight to bring the rebel world of Dulan to compliance. Enraged by the defiance of the tyrant Durath, Russ has pledged to strike him down personally but his brother Lion El Jonson of the Dark Angels advises more caution. With the might of two Legions arrayed against Durath, tensions nevertheless run high, and the rivalry between the Wolf and the Lion threatens to engulf them all."

The story of The Lion and the Wolf? Awesome! One of my favourite pieces of lore, but not sure if it will be good to get a "canon" version now.

The Silent War

"Anthology of tales about the secret missions that underpin the entire Horus Heresy series. While loyalist and traitor forces clash on a thousand battlefields across the galaxy, a very different kind of war is being fought in the shadows. Rogal Dorn and his Legion prepare to defend the Solar System against the armies of Warmaster Horus, even as Malcador the Sigillite charges his many agents and spies with missions of the utmost secrecy. The future of the Imperium is being shaped by unseen hands... This Horus Heresy anthology contains fourteen stories by some of Black Library's top authors, including James Swallow, Chris Wraight, John French, Anthony Reynolds and many more."

We already heard about this at the Horus Heresy weekender - it's basically a shadow war fought by both sites. I really hope we see some Sisters of Silence action here!

You can pre-order both books, aswell as Guilliman at Amazon!

The Horus Heresy: Primarchs novels

Howdy Guys and Girls - take a look at a new upcoming series of 30k books, starting with none other than Roboute Guilliman!

Launch title in The Horus Heresy: Primarchs series, a brand new sequence of novels from Black Library.

Long before the coming of the Imperium, the realm of Ultramar was ruled by Roboute Guilliman, the last Battle King of Macragge. Even after learning of his true heritage as a primarch son of the Emperor of Mankind, he strove to expand his domain as efficiently and benevolently as possible, with the XIII Legion Ultramarines as his alone to command. Now, facing a rival empire on the ork-held world of Thoas, Guilliman must choose his weapons carefully – otherwise his dream of a brighter future could be lost forever ...

240 pages.

Release is supposed to be around October. Cover isn't finished yet :)

What do you think about this? A spin off series about the Primarchs showing them before the outbreak of the heresy? Some more background for the Great Crusade? Maybe a book that shows how awesome Ferrus Manus was? Write us in the comments below!
